The bonfire

Y/n's POV

After about thirty minutes of being alone in my hut lying around it was time to head to the bonfire. I walked out of my hut and made my way to the middle of the glade were there is this huge pile of sticks, twigs, and tree branches. then I see newt he is holding a wooden pole with the tip on fire so do a bunch of other boys. "alright light him up boys" newt says and throws the pole in the pile this made me giggle as the other boys did the same as newt. "hey greenie" newt says walking over "hey newt" I said sitting on a log that is the perfect distance from the fire. newt sat next to me on the log. "so greenie tell me what do you think" he asks "well you were right I do love it" I said. me and newt got to know each other a little bit and he told me about the maze and introduced me to some of his friends Minho , alby, and some others. after about hour of getting to know everyone I sneaked my way over to the tree me and newt were in earlier looking up at the stars. thinking about newt.

Newt's POV

I went looking for y/n and couldn't find her. I walked into the forest to see if I could find her there. I found her in the tree we were in earlier that day "hey greenie you okay" I asked her "fine just thinking" she replied as I climbed up. "what about?" I asked as I reached the branch she was on "you,the glade,this place" she replied blushing I couldn't help but smile and in that moment her E/C (eye color) eyes met mine and time stopped. she looked away so I did the same "newt do you remember anything before the glade" she asked looking down sadly "not much greenie all I can remember is different types of food but not who I ate them with or animals but not knowing who I saw them with it's pretty pathetic" I said in response. "what about you?" I ask "I remember having a best friend and a song we used to sing" she answers "do you remember what this friend looked like or there name?" I asked. "he had brownish blackish hair and his name started with a T but that is all I remember" she said "and what about this song can you sing it for me?" I asked "OK but I'm not the greatest singer" she said.

"Thank you It's getting late I'm going to head to bed " she said "oh um let me walk you to your hut" I said to her. we climbed down the tree and I walked her to her hut. I stood in the door frame and noticed the noot y/n found on my shoulder earlier. she caught me looking "you can come in and see him if you want" she said I walked in and looked at the noot she got him out of his cage. "I've been calling him noowt , I don't really know what else to call him" she told me "well I personally think it's a great name" I said jokingly which made her giggle. her giggle was so cute it made me blush and chuckle. we talked for about thirty more minutes before I got up to leave. " thank you Newt" she said getting up to see me off. "for what?"I asked "for today, I had fun and it was all because of you" she said " I had fun to " I replied "good night greenie" I said giving her a hug. "good night newt" she said before she kissed me on my cheek and then shut the door slowly smiling to herself as I did the same. Then walked to my hammock.
