Y/N POV
"Cmon Y/N" Leone calls out, "It's been 2 weeks and you still can't punch through a dummy. Maybe recruiting you was a mistake"
"Thanks for the encouragement coach" I groan
I'd been at this task for 2 weeks now, all the while Leone watched, but still couldn't do it. I was determined to do it. Today
I get into my stance and take a deep breath. I think back to the night Tatsumi and I fought Ogre. How I kicked a hole through him. If only I could channel that energy and go back to that night, I could shatter this dummy
I throw a few full power punches to no avail. But on one particular punch, as soon as I made contact, I feel an explosion of power erupt inside me. I feel it flows through my veins, and in one explosive punch, the dummy shatters
"Oooooh there we go" Leone exclaims
"I...I did it" I pant
"You know what that means right" Leone smiles as she places a hand on my shoulder
"I get my Higan back" I smirk referring to my Imperial Arms
"That's right" Leone says
She leads me back to the base before telling me to wait in the main room while she went to go get them
"Wait here. I'll be right back" She says
I plop myself down on the couch and take a quick breather. I was training for 2 hours after all. She comes back with her hands behind her back and a wide grin across her face
"I may have made a few visual changes to your gauntlets" she says
"What did you paint them pink and decorate them with rainbows or something" I joke
"I'm offended that you would even say something like that" she fake gasps, "Even after how long we've known each other. You know I'm not into that girly shit. That's more Mines department"
"Well then what did you do" I ask
Her smile widens as she reveals why she had done. She painted the gauntlets a dark purple and even polished and made them look very nice. The orange gem in the middle of each gauntlet shined brighter than I had ever seen them shine before and the purple color matched my belt, which she also dyed.
"Wow" I gawk, "Thanks! These look great!"
"You've earned em" she smiles, "Now you can go on more advanced missions"
"GUYS!!!" Lubbock shouts as he runs into the room, "INTRUDERS!!!"
"Like now" Leone says, "Get ready and meet out front"
We all meet and prepare to take on our intruders
"How many intruders and where" Najenda asks
"Judging by my barrier, I'd say about 8" Lubbock says, "They're getting a little close to the hideout if you ask me"
"If they were clever enough to sniff us out, we should assume their tribal assassins. Move quickly. Don't let them leave her alive" Najenda commands
We're given our commands before being sent off to handle the intruders. I was given the job of guarding the west side with Lubbock . Tatsumi and Bulat were tasked with the North, Mine and Sheele to the East, and Leone and Akame went to the south.
"So we've each got one to handle" I ask
"Yup, and our two targets are this way" Lubbock says as he leads me to where they were
