the cold air bit mikes nose as he walked out of his chilly apartment. he mumbled swears to himself as he wrapped his arms around his torso. desperately clinging to any warmth he still had from being inside. mike has never been a fan of cold weather. let alone snow. but it is what it is.

once he arrived at his car he swung open the door and immediately turned on the heater. breathing out a harsh breath and rubbing his hands together. he let out a little high-pitched uncomfortable whine.

he didn't understand why moz wanted him to come to the studio so badly. the album was finished. he recalls him saying something about "meeting a few his new friends" friends? since when did morrissey have friends that weren't in the band? whatever. it was all kind of a blur to mike. once the car warmed up. he shifted into gear and began driving.

after what felt like ages mike finally arrived at the studio. bundled in 2 coats, a scarf, beanie, mittens, and snow boots.

he walked in, his boots making a squeaking sound on the tile floor as he walked towards a room that he heard quiet chatter and giggles from. he pushed open the door and saw moz, sitting on the couch talking to two girls, one seemed to be very interested in him. twirling her finger around her straight blonde hair and laughing at ever joke he made. even when they weren't even funny. she looked to be wearing one of morrisseys tee-shirts. hmm. strange. and the other. looking mildly uncomfortable. leaning on her hand zoned out staring at her feet. she had black curly hair and was wearing a joy division shirt and a leather jacket.

"oh hello mike!" moz smiled. "uhh. this is my.... lady friend eliza. and her friend beth.

eliza shined a bright smile. tilting her head to the side and laying it on stevens shoulder. beth on the other hand looked up at mike and didn't do or say anything.

"wheres everyone else?" he asked, confused "oh, you know they got caught up in some bad traffic because of the icey roads, they should be here in around an hour or so" he responded, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose a bit.

mike sat down in a chair next to the side of the couch that beth was sitting on. "soo.... how do you know morrissey?" he asked. awkwardly. "oh uh. eliza met him at a show. she introduced me to him and that's how i ended up here." beth picked at her nails a bit and glanced over at moz and eliza who where whispering things into eachothers ears and giggling. like schoolgirls.

beth made a disgusted face and got up. "i need a smoke." she stated before grabbing a pack of ciggerettes and walking out of the door.

overwhelmed from sitting all alone in the room mike got up "i-i need one too." he muttered before leaving the room and walking to the front of the building.

he instantly regretted coming outside when he got there. he was met with the same cold temperature and discomfort it gave him. luckily, beth was out there. standing with the cigarette pressed between her red painted lips. "hey." she took a drag. "do you want one?" she asked. mike felt his face go a little red as he nodded.

she took out the cigarette. moving closer to his face she placed it inbetween his lips and lit it with her lighter. mike was losing his mind over this. she let out a quiet chuckle at the flustered boy and stood next to him. their shoulders pressed against eachothers.

"so, mike right?"
he nodded. breathing in the smoke.
"i'm beth. but i'm guessing you already know that."
"yeah, moz told us that he wanted us to meet eliza. they seem to really like eachother.
"uh huh... i needed to get out of there. if we would've left they would have shagged right in-front of us."
mike chuckled softly at her joke. "the others aren't going to be here for a while, would you want to get a bite to eat while with me while we wait?" she stomped her cigarette out with the toe of her doc marten and looked up at mike.
"i-ide love to!" he stammered, surprised someone as pretty as her would ask him such a thing.

the two finally arrived at the coffee shop. mike scanned the large menu. "i've never been here." he admitted "what should i get?" she studied the menu and smiled a bit "the chai tea is good, you seem like the types of person to like that." she smirked he scoffed "what is that supposed to mean?" beth laughed quietly. "you'll see."

they ordered their drinks and sat at a table.

mike squinted his eyes at the warm beverage in his hand before taking his first swig. "you're right..." his eyes widened "this tea is amazing!" he exclaimed taking another sip of his drink.

"so, tell me about yourself mike." she took a sip of her drink and leaned on her hand.

"uhh well- i play drums for the smiths but ide hope you know that already..." she giggled softly causing a small smile to tug at his lips "i was born in manchester uhh i have 2 brothers and 2 sisters and my favorite group is the B50-2s."

"good taste, i was born in manchester as well, i have one older brother whom i'm very close with and my favorite group is joy division." she explained. "oh! and i have 2 cats named nico and lou."

"you have cats?" she nodded as she took a long sip of her drink "i've always wanted a cat but my landlord doesn't allow animals, luckily moz has 3 that i visit every time i go to his flat." "i don't live too far, if you want to ditch moz and eliza i'll be happy to introduce you to lou and nico... and maybe we could have a few drinks as well." she offered sheepishly. "you don't have to go if you don't feel comfortable with that though."

mike flashed a large smile and he took the last sip of his tea. "i would love to!"

beth unlocked the door to her apartment and let him in. they shed off their winter coats and beth went to the kitchen to get the cat food.

mike peeked around the corner at the short girl who was reaching for the container at the top shelf. obviously struggling. "do you want some help," he chuckled. beth started blushing furiously out of embarrassment and nodded. he reached up and grabbed the large container, placing it on the kitchen counter where the food bowls are.

"watch, they'll come running." beth whispered before she started shaking the jar. she was right. soon enough a small black cat and a much larger brown calico who looked to be mixed with something else but mike didn't know.

his face lit up as he gasped. beth laughed and poured the food into the bowls. "so... do you want a drink? like a beer?" she asked "sure"

she reached into the fridge and retrieved two beers. then turned around to see him holding nico, the all small black one. like a baby. "he usually doesn't let new people pick him up. he must really like you." she smirked

mike wanted to say well, i really like you but quickly decided against it and instead said, "maybe i'm just really likable." "ide say so" she flirted

mike put the cat down and beth sat on the couch, she gestured for him to sit next to her and he obeyed.

mike placed his arm around her shoulder and she nuzzled into his side. she looked up at him, he bit his lip darting his eyes between her eyes and lips. "can i kiss you?" he whispered. beth giggled breathily and nodded.

he placed his hand on the side of her face. inching their faces closer and closer they finally pressed their lips together. her lips where soft and sweet. just like how he imagined. she got into his lap and deepened the kiss. she pulled away and smiled "you're a damn good kisser Michael."

"you too beth." he wrapped his arms around her torso and she laid her head on his chest. the two staid tangled in each other's limbs until night fell and it became dark outside. when beth offered for him to stay the night he politely declined. they exchanged numbers and hoped to see each other again soon...
