Ch. 13
Life went on and all was well for Lance. Darrien had finally figured out that fighting Lancelot would not end well, at least for now. The deal between Serro and Reginald had been going smoothly for about a year. However Reginald had forgotten to sacrifice a slave to Serro for the past 5 months. He was preparing to go out on a mission assigned from the Vatican when one of the security body guards for the family came running towards him.
"My Lord! There is a Problem!" the guard yelled in fear
"What is it?" Reginald asked. The guard pointed towards Lancelot's room window, a black fog was creeping through the wood and glass and the air seemed to get heavier. "That damn demon" Reginald told his group of "elite" soldiers to go on without him and deal with the mission, he would eventually catch up. When he got to the room the black aura was seeping out from all around the door, everything it touched was changing, almost as if the power was not only corrupting the object but was...rotting? "No" Reginald thought "This isn't a rot, it's...something else." Reginald told the guards by the door to make sure no one came close to this door-no, not even turn down this hallway. He opened the door and the black aura shot out of the room and was so thick the fog felt was if it was in liquid form. Voices whispered in multiple different tones and pitches within the room.
"Sir...do you think giving the demon more souls was a good idea?" a guard asked him
"Of course it wasn't...it was either do this or kill the boy, which in turn would have Tracey cause major problems for me...make sure this door stays closed until I fix the situation." With that he walked into the pitch black room and the door slammed shut by itself, the aura starting to form pitch black chains and locks around the door. Reginald looked behind him then forward again before lifting his hand, a ball of light started to appear and Reginald saw that he was in a long tunnel. He began walking forward as the whispers continued to talk to each other. As he walked, Reginald often looked to the wall of the tunnel seeing the black colored bricks and seeing images of past host lives. Some of the things he saw that demon did even disgusted him. The more he walked the more he saw the possessed ripping bodies apart, feasting on organs. Watching the demon violently bite and rip into lungs, shredding the flesh into pieces. Swallowing or even biting still beating hearts. Using bones to either stab the person into the ground or using them as utensils. After a while Reginald could not watch anymore and looked forward. The multiple whispering voices began to chuckle and speak in unison.
"What's the matter Reg? You vegetarian?" the voices laughed insanely and the tunnel shook.
"I prefer to not watch the works of a demon, your kind disgusts me."
"Aaaww, how harsh, and to think you wanted to be my host. Poor poor Reginald-"the voices began to lower in tone to a more demon-like version "-Where are my souls!" Reginald stopped walking and looked around calmly..."I've kept my part of the bargain Reginald! Lancelot remembers nothing! Why haven't I seen a soul in 5 months! Have you decided to betray the deal?" children voices whispers and giggled between each other. Reginald was further disgusted by the fact that Lancelot wasn't the only child to be possessed by Serro. "I thought you were made out of steel Reg...I'm surprised that you actually feel emotions." I blank person with pitch black skin formed behind him and whispered in his ear "Maybe I'll pay your real son a visit, test his skills to see if he truly inherited your power." the next thing that happened was Reginald turning around and punching the ball of light into the blank figure's chest. He kicked him back far and the ball exploded, a demonic screech was heard as the darkness was burned away from the tunnel, the less tunnel there was the more of the original room could be seen.
"You act so powerful, but such a small light can do this to you? You are a joke! I can't even believe I even considered becoming your host." Reginald clamped his hands and the darkness faded away, Serro sitting in a chair looking straight at him. "What have you done with those souls Serro? You obviously did not use them to increase your power." Serro grinned and started to chuckle.
