Ch. 5
Lancelot woke up in his bed the next day, he sat up and looked around. He still wasn’t used to having a home, being alone for years had taken its tole. He stood up and stretched, he’d never slept so well in his life! The door opened and there was Ellyn, smiling. “Come on, come play with us” she turned around giggling. “Us?” Lancelot walked out of his room, the guards nodded to him before walking away, he looked down a long hallway but did not see his sister, but someone dressed in old clothing…and floating? No, when Lance took a closer look he saw that his legs started to fade away the closer they got to the ground, his feet to the middle of his shins were just air, there was nothing there. The man was very tall and was slightly glowing green with a hint of mist surrounding him. The man took off his hat and bowed his head to Lancelot.
“Madam Maracos is this way. She has instructed me to bring you to her. Followed me please” the man’s voice had an echo as if he was speaking in a deep cave. Lancelot did what the man asked tilting his head in confusion trying to figure out what was wrong with him, he had never seen someone like this. The man lead Lance to a new hallway, once they reached a door that was slightly cracked open the man pushed it opened and bowed once again to Lancelot. “Enjoy the party sir” the man said as the mist became heavier and surrounded him, he slowly faded away. Lancelot walked into the room and saw more people like the man outside but not all of them were dressed the same, some were dressed fancy like they were at a party or ball while others were cowboys. There were knights all around the room covered head to toe in armor. Lancelot looked closer and saw some of them were actually passing through others as they “walked.” Lancelot knew what these things were now and his eyes widened, they were spirits. He was frightened, Ellyn walked over to him and saw his face. “Brother?...what’s wrong?” Lancelot looked at her and took a few steps back.
“S-Stay away!...I don’t want to see him again!”
“See who?” Ellyn didn’t understand, she had the ability to summon spirits to her aid whenever she wanted, she knew how to use this power for years. She didn’t know what Lance had been through. She walked towards her brother but he jumped away slamming himself into the wall
“Stay away!” Lance grabbed the nearest thing, a chair, and threw it straight at Ellyn, she screamed and one of the spirit knights cut the chair in half before it could reach her. 2 more grabbed Lance’s arms. “NO! Don’t touch me!” Lancelot was screaming now, utterly terrified. Suddenly his eyes went blank and he growled. He stood up and pulled both his arms slamming the spirit knights together in front of him and they exploded in green mist. More came taking out their weapons, Lance acted like an animal again, running around the room dodging the attacks until he finally stopped moving, he ran straight for a group of the knights and Ellyn watched as he ripped them apart. If they weren’t spirits there would be too much blood for the floor to soak up, there would be body parts all around, major organs outside of bodies. Ellyn Looked around in terror, Lancelot had even attacked the spirits that had no weapons, the ones that weren’t even trying to hurt him. He looked at her and she knew that he was going to attack her. He disappeared, gone in flash, she yelled and ran towards the door but was tripped, she looked up and saw Lancelot about to crush her head with a desk. His eyes were not yellow like she remembered anymore…they were red, not like when Tracey found him in the alleyway, it was just his iris.
“Lancelot!!” the voice sounded familiar “Lancelot! What are you doing!?” he looked up to see his mother looking at him covering her mouth with both hands. His father on the other hand looked angry about to attack him. Lancelot looked back down at his sister, she was crying. He dropped the desk and backed away, he suddenly grabbed his head yelling in pain. Ellyn also grabbed her head but did not yell, a red symbol glowed on her hand and the room shook. The symbol on Lancelot’s back glowed red as well, bright enough to be seen through his shirt. Black aura flowed into the room from under the floorboards and there was a laughter. A horrible laughter the voices were all mixed together and toned differently, the aura started to form the blank figure Tracey had seen in the alleyway.
