Zayan

She was silent. Her eerie quirks, her cautiousness, and then there was that fear in her eyes when she had been escorted to the forest and quietly waited...it was an odd case of a mysterious reality.

What could be sinister enough to make her lie?

Strange humans....hmmm

For a long time, her truth hadn't been believed, her insanity had been questioned, so it made sense for her to speak limited words. Yet she had married him because she believed that he had heard her truth. Why then was she still lying? She wanted him to fight. She wasn't displaying the vulnerabilities, which hardly made any sense.

Sitting in the lounge of the police station, Zayan rolled the edges of the book pages, while leaning back on his chair, and patted his chin in deep thought. Nyla was sitting before him, right across the huge table placed between them, with her head resting against one open journal. She was fast asleep, snoring and muttering something about not leaving her alone and not turning off the lights.

A gentle smile appeared on Zayan's smile, as he saw her then adorably scolding someone in her sleep and demanding for her favourite stuffed pink lilies cushion. This woman was adorable. The strong feeling of possessive made him curl his fists in a solid promise. This was his woman.

It was hard to believe that such a gentle and adorable soul was being accused of something as sinister as committing murders, slashing heads and clawing people. Yet, how could one use her sweet vibe as a piece of evidence?

Randomly cracking his knuckles, Zayan rubbed the nape of his nape and then stared up at the ceiling. He was feeling bored now. His mind, it could hardly remain steadfast on one track. He had an idea of what he was going to say at the opening hearing...what evidences he was going to provide. It was the lack of answers that were boring his mind.

The mystery was still the same. What was happening to Embalian people deep in the forest? Why Nyla was always coincidentally there? And why were so many of those people whom she knew being targetted?

What was Mrs Zayan hiding from her dear husband?

Nyla

I was terrified, trying my best to control my tangled nerves. The hearing was about to begin at any time soon. It felt so agonizing to be sitting as a suspect and watching a wave of crowd notice my each and every move. Any wrong move of mine could be used as evidence against me.

I could feel it in the air-the atmosphere. Many already accepted me guilty. It was one of those cases that the obvious picture was easily used by the witnesses. I understood the reasoning behind such assumptions. The hurt was too huge for anyone to think rationally.

Fidgeting with my fingers, I turned to look at the prosecution side of the court and sighed in deep pain. There were innocent and so deeply hurt families waiting there, hoping that Mr Jaffar-the city's prime lawyer- could help them receive justice. All of the wounded families were bonding over their mutual pain.

I turned to momentarily look at the alien-crowd sitting behind me. No one from my family was attending this court hearing. My mama didn't have the heart to see me in such a horrible mess.
