PoV: Sonic

  We walked out to the town square, Amy was there with several if her solider. There were two thrones on either side of the square. Amy was dressed in armor with a large battle hammer besides her.

  Is Blaze going to fight? I have to protect her.

"I see you've accepted my duel," Princess Amy scoffed, "Then you shall have a chance at victory today. It will be a fair fight for the agreed upon terms! Now then, Princess Blaze!" Amy's soilders stood in a line in the center of the square, "Choose any soilder from army. They shall fight against any soldier of yours on my behalf."

"Very well," it was a queens duel. I could not protect Blaze unless we won the first two rounds. If we won both rounds, Blaze would win and no longer need to fight. But if we lost one, she would have to fight to break the tie. This situation ment that only the queens had control. And in this situation, I saw him there. Infinite was standing right besides Amy with a grin on his face, "I choose the that one  to face off against my Knight Rouge the Bat, of the night sky."

"Accepted!" Amy waved her soilders back where they stood behind her. The first battle was annouce and started without hesitation.

"I fight fo the honor of the Lightflame Kingdom in honor of my Queen, Blaze!" Rouge stepped forward with her sword in her hand and a dagger of her him.

"May the best knight survive," the opposing knight held his sword in bother hands. It only took a few moments for them to attack.

  Rouge was on the defensive, dodging hard attacks and jabbing with each opening she got. Their swords clashing together in persistent combat. It ended quickly. It felt like it was unreal, Rouge pulled the dagger as she clashed her sword against the floral knights' sheild. Before they could attack, Rouge's dagger was jabbed deep into their side below the armor. Blood was pouring from the armor and the knight collapsed. They no longer moved.

"Excuse me... hello?" I felt a tug on my tunic, distracting me from the announcement of Rouge's victory. It was a familiar voice.

  I turned and found his face with a bright smile, "Tails..."

"So it's true, you became a knight!" He hugged me, "You're not a slave anymore."

"Tails... what are you doing here? You lived in the River kingdom..." I couldn't believe I had been reunited with him.

"That knight found me and bought me a workshop near the castle when the war started. I've been making swords for all the soldiers to take to battle. Speaking of which," he took the large load from his back and unwrapped it. He released a swords with a blue sapphire gem in the handle, "This one is yours."

"Mine?!" He handed it to me, "But I only just became a fully fledged knight."

"And now you have a sword to battle with. I'll be seeing you anytime you want, but the Lightflame Kingdom has to win this duel. You need to line up, Queen Rose is picking her challenger. Good luck!"

"Already?" I had gotten distracted by our reunion. It was time for the next battle. I ran to stand in the back row where Blaze told me to stand. So far, Amy couldn't see me.

  All of the other soldiers are skilled fighters. So it they can win just like Rouge then Blaze won't have t-

"I have decided!" Amy shouted, "Sonic will be the opponent."

  Me?! I don't get it. Amy wasn't supposed to know I'm a soldier... how could she know to chose me?

  The the soldiers walked back and left me standing alone in the town square. Blood ran between the bricks and dirt. I looked back at Blaze, she had a bland expression yet... I could see how tense her hand was gripping the arm of her throne. Is this why- I remembered all the attention she gave me the night before, She knew this would happen. She ensured I was well rested for my first battle. Amazing... Her majesty can think so far ahead and prepare for it. Blaze is such an amazing leader... I won't let her down.

"I will fight for the honor of Lightflame Kingdom!" I shouted.

"I have chosen my strongest knight," Amy smiled her creepy smile once again, "Sir Knuckles, Knight of the iron fist!"

"I look forward to crush you in battle scrawny knight," he had a sword, but what worried me were the spears on his fists. His fighting stance made me worry.

"I refuse to fall," I held my ground. The drum was beaten and he came running.

  My first battle had just started.
