Izuku POV  

I think Todoroki stalks me.....that came out wrong it's just that wherever I am he is also thereby "coincidence" which I think is bullshit.  Right now I was chilling on the school roof with guess who

You guessed it Todoroki Shoto. Ever since the villain attack, we had become closer we had started talking more often in school instead of him just staring at me during the lunch period. We had exchanged phone numbers and talked outside of school. Him giving me his phone number was useless I had tapped his and everyone else's phone before the term had started and kept tabs on everyone but that wasn't necessary. Today he seemed fidgety which was understandable he had training with his father today. Though his parents had separated when he was younger his father had partial custody over Shoto because his father thought it had the power to surpass All Might something Endeavour himself couldn't do. How I know this you may ask, during my background check of everyone in the hero course I came across the court files. Observing him from my spot on the roof he kept fidgeting with his food and couldn't look me in the eye for some reason. Deciding not to tiptoe around the subject I started " Something's on your mind spit it out" He looked up at me and set down his lunch and took a deep breath

Todoroki: T

Izuku: I 

T: you're right t-there's something I want to tell you 

I: I'm listening 

T: You know that I train with my dad right?

I: yeah 

T: I don't want to go anymore.

I: Why?

T: Well it's no really training h-h-he hits me really hard.

I: You should tell Aizawa

T: Trust me I tried before but his status as the No.2 hero just shuts anyone up. 

I: Let me think

T: He takes his aggression out on me, he beats me until I-I-I pass out sometimes. He wants me to use my fireside but I won't.

I: I've noticed that you don't use your fire. Why don't you 

T: I won't use his fire. 

I: That's stupid.

T: What?! I thought you would understand!

I: wait!

T: NO YOU WAIT! You don't know what it's like to be beaten to the brink of exhaustion or burnt mercilessly all because your father wants you to be some tool for him to surpass some tool!! *voice break*

I: You associate the fireside of your quirk to your father, right?

T: Y-yeah 

I: And you agree that we sometimes inherit some traits or in your case quirks from our parents right? It's basic biology.

T: What are you getting at?

I: You are your own person Shoto, you may have inherited your father's quirk, and the fact that it traumatizes you and you resent it shows that you must change the meaning of the fire. Not just for you but everyone around you. Fire brings with it light, warmth and it scares away the darkness. Fire also for many people brings destruction, intimidation, and fear. The deciding factor is how you use it. How will you use that fire Shoto?
