old friends

I woke up the next morning to be greeted with the arms of Jaemin wrapped around my waist and Jeno nowhere in sight. "Nana?" I said trying to wake up Jaemin. "What is it baby" he replied. "Where is Nono?" I asked. Jaemin sat up with me still in his arms. I was now sitting in Jaemin's lap with his arms around my waist. "I'm not sure. Why don't we go find him" I nodded at his words. We got up with Jaemin letting go of my waist finally. We walked to the main area in the house once we left the bedroom. Jeno was sitting on one of the couches talking with the guy from last night and two other people. Jeno noticed us come in and waved for us to come over to him. I walked over to him and sat on his lap (one of my favorite places to sit). "Ah hello there little one" Yuta said to me. He had a boy sitting on his lap and another boy sitting next to him. "This is my little one, his name is Donghyuck but he goes by Haechan'' he said as the small boy waved to me. "And this one is Mark," he said, pointing next to him. I waved to them shyley before turning around so I could face Jeno. "Has my mother come back at all today?" I whispered to him. He shook his head in reply. I nodded and rested my head on his shoulder. "So what are you doing here Yuta?" Jaemin asked. "There have been attacks on my pack," Yuta replied. "By who?" Jaemin sounded worried with what he said. "I'm not entirely sure yet but what I do know is whoever is trying to attack my pack wants to take something of mine more specifically someone of mine" he pointed at the small boy in her lap. By now Haechan had fallen asleep in Yuta's lap so he couldn't hear the conversation. It was such an adorable sight to see. I decided that I didn't want to sit in Jeno's lap anymore so I crawled over to Jaemin and put my legs around his waist. Jeno, Jaemin, and Yuta kept on talking about the things going on with Yuta's pack. I wasn't listening to what they were talking about and started to play with Jaemin's hand. I got bored so I decided that I was just going to sleep. Resting my head into Jaemin's neck, I inhaled his amazing scent. Slowly I started to drift into the world of dreams.

I woke up suddenly when I heard a scream. I was no longer in Jaemins lap but instead I was laying down on a soft pink bed. I looked around the room trying to figure out where I was. I didn't know what was going on and why there were screams outside so I just curled up covering my ears. I started crying and grasping at my chest. My breathing was starting to become uneven. All of a sudden Jaemin bursted into the room with a glass of water. He rushed over to me sitting down next to me in an instant. "Shh baby calm down it's okay I'm here" Jaemin soothed. His voice calmed me down and he handed me the glass of water. "W-what was the screaming" I asked in a hushed tone. "Haechan had a nightmare," he replied. "Why?" I was very confused as to how someone could have that bad of a nightmare that they start screaming. "He has a bad past" Jaemin started as I was calming down slowly "When Haechan was born he had special abilities. He had the power to control fire. His mother was happy that her son was special but his father wanted to know more. He was locked in the basement for years. He got tested on and was rarely fed. One day Mark had picked up on his scent. Yuta and Mark were already together then so he went back to tell Yuta that he found another mate. Yuta was surprised but agreed to check to see if it was true. They went to the place that Mark had been at before and found the house that Haechan was in. Haechans parents were gone at the time as they had gone to the store. Yuta and Mark broke into the house and found Haechan in the basement. He was scared and alone so when they came it was like the answer to his prayers. They had gotten him out of there and ever since then he has lived with them and made sure to stay away from that house. Even though he got out he has frequent nightmares". Jaemin sighed and looked at me. He didn't say anything, just pulled me onto his lap. He back hugged me while we just sat there in silence. Jeno walked into the room after a while. He needed us, more specifically Jaemin, to go to the main area that we were in before to talk to Yuta.

We got to the main area where Haechan was sitting on Mark's lap with puffy eyes and swollen lips staring into space. He looked like his soul was sucked out of him. "How is he?" Jaemin asked Yuta. "He is better but he won't talk to either of us yet" he replied. Jaemin nodded and sat down. "I would like to ask if we could stay here for a while," Yuta said. "Of course you can stay here, we have a spare room that you can stay in if you would like" Jeno answered, sounding ready to help her in a heartbeat. "Thank you so much. I don't know what I would do if either of my babies got hurt by staying in our territory" Yuta started to tear up 'it's a trend by now'. "I can't thank you enough for letting me and my babies stay here" Mark was blushing at him calling them his babies. "I'll take you to the room you will be staying in so you guys can rest a bit" Jeno had said.

They followed Jeno to a room that I hadn't been in before. Mark was carrying Haechan as they followed Jeno. I stood up from my spot on the couch and walked over to Jaemin. "Hey what was that room I was in earlier?" I asked. "It was just a guest room because we didn't want you too far away from us and it was closest to the main area" He replied before pulling me onto his lap. "What is going to happen with Yuta's pack?" I questioned. "We don't know yet but hopefully we can find the person responsible before too much damage is done" Jaemin replied. "I hope that nothing bad happens to them, they seem like such nice people" I said. Jaemin nodded "Yuta and Jeno have been friends for the longest time. They both lost their parents at a very young age and when no one else was there for them they had each other. They are practically siblings at this point. When Yuta found Mark he was extremely supportive of their relationship and when I met Jeno, Yuta was extremely nice and caring towards me. He made me feel accepted for being with Jeno since at the time there were very few male and male couples. When Yuta and Mark found Haechan Jeno was there to support them with things that they needed to take care of him and now with all the things going on with Yuta's pack, Jeno is going to help and so am I so we can make sure that him and his mates are safe". I really felt happy that Jeno has someone he can really treat like family and in return be treated the same. "That reminds me of one of the guards that I had when I was younger. We were like brothers. He was there for me when my parents never paid attention to me. He was there in the times that I felt sad or lonely and just needed someone to lean on. He was always there until he wasn't. One day he had just vanished, his things were still there but he was gone" I was crying now "He was my best friend but he was gone. Chenle." I couldn't help but cry thinking of him. He was everything to me. "Wait, Chenle?" Mark had come into the room. I just nodded instead of saying anything. "Was his surname perhaps Zhong?" Mark asked. I nodded again and looked up at him. "I know him, he is a part of our pack. He said something about leaving a palace due to mistreatment when he joined''. I was shocked by that, Chenle was being mistreated by my parents. "Can I talk to him?" I asked desperately. He nodded and took out a phone clicking it a few times before putting it on speaker as it rang. "Hello?" a man with a deep voice had answered the phone. "Hey Jisung, are you with Chenle right now?" Mark asked the man. "Yeah why?" The deep voiced male replied. "I need to talk to him," Mark said. "Okay but make it quick we have things to do '' the man had put an emphasis on things. After that there was a little bit of shuffling. "Hello?" I swore my heart had stopped at that point and time. "Hey Chenle I have a person here that wants to talk to you" Mark said before handing the phone over to me. "C-Chenle?" I was on the edge of tears again. "R-Renjun?" He sounded like he was gonna cry too. "I missed you LeLe," I said quietly. "I missed you too Junnie". "How have you been?" I was whispering into the phone by now but I didn't care. "I've been good, Where are you?". "I'm at my mates house". "You found your mate, I'm so proud of you". "Actually, I have two LeLe''. "That's amazing Junnie".
