"COME ON, Y/N. You need to go." Gwen was sitting next to me on my bed as I lay underneath the covers next to Hydra. Today was the day of Cedric's memorial. I wanted to go because he was my brother and my best friend, even if it would break me to even hear his name aloud, I needed to go.

I hadn't left my room in the past two days, Professor Sprout said I could take as much time as I needed. Gwen, Heidi, Hannah or Irene had been bringing me up food which I did eat and I was thankful. I just couldn't go down the halls without remembering Cedric and all my memories I've had with him here.

"Just take a shower, get dressed and then I'll walk down with you." She insisted. "George has been looking for you."

I stroked my cat's head and he purred. I then slowly stood up and walked over to the dorm's bathroom and locked the door behind me. I undressed, turned on the shower and slowly got in. The warm water felt soothing on my back.

I felt horrible. My own brother was just killed by You-Know-Who, he was killed by Voldemort.

I carefully washed my face in the water, my eyes still felt raw from crying but I had to keep it together, just for a little while. Once I got out of the shower I wrapped a towel around my body and unlocked the door. I walked towards my drawers and pulled out my uniform.

Once I got dressed I pulled on my robe and tied up my shoes. Gwen watched me as I went back into the bathroom and picked up my hairbrush while looking into the mirror. She then stood up and followed me in.

She didn't say anything, but she took the hairbrush and helped me do my hair. I really was thankful to have her.

"Come on, Y/N/N." She said softly. "Time to go."

I nodded and together we walked towards the door. Gwen held my hand tightly as we walked down the stairs. We got down to the common room and it went silent, majority of Hufflepuff house was now staring at me.

"Gwen, I can't do this. I'm going back." I went to turn around but Gwen pulled me back, interlacing our fingers.

"Come with me. Ignore them." She told me with a soft smile. I followed her out of the common room and out into the hall.

There seemed to be more students outside the Hufflepuff common room than usual. It only took my brother's death for us to be noticed.

"Y/N!"

I turned my head to see George run up to me and wrap his arms around me. I hugged him back tighter, my head buried into his chest.

"Hey." I muttered and he looked down at my face, brushing some of my hair away from my eyes.

"You ready to do this?" He asked softly.

"Honestly? No. But I'll be fine." I forced a small smile and the three of us headed towards the great hall.

The hall looked different. All the house tables were gone, and the room was mostly empty. Chairs were sat in rows from the front of the room and all the way to the back.

The few students who were there already stared at me as we walked past.

"That's his sister." One boy whispered to his friend, and I looked away. We took seats in the front row. George saved a seat to his left for Fred, and I sat on his right.

Gwen pat my hand and I smiled at her. The great hall then started to fill with Hogwarts, Beauxbatons and Durmstrang students.

"Mr. Weasley, no running." Professor McGonagall scolded quietly, and Fred skidded to a stop beside our row.

"Sorry, Professor." He slipped into his seat and soon the entire hall was silent again.

Professor Dumbledore sat at the front of the hall.

"Today, we acknowledge a really terrible loss." He spoke. "Cedric Diggory was, as you all know, exceptionally hard-working, infinitely fair-minded, and, most importantly, a fierce, fierce friend and a wonderful brother."

I started crying again, holding a hand to my mouth to muffle my sobs.

"Now, I think, therefore, you have the right to know exactly how he died. You see... Cedric Diggory was murdered... by Lord Voldemort! The Ministry of Magic does not wish me to tell you this. But not to do so, I think, would be an insult to his memory."

George grabbed my hand and laced our fingers together.

"Now, the pain we all feel at this dreadful loss reminds me-- reminds us --that while we may come from different places and speak in different tongues, our hearts beat as one." Dumbledore continued. "In light of recent events, the bonds of friendships we've made this year will be more important than ever. Remember that, and Cedric Diggory will not have died in vain. You remember that. And we'll celebrate a boy who was kind and honest and brave and true right to the very end."

THE WHOLE TRAIN ride home, I sat in the corner of a compartment reading one of my astronomy books. This one was the gift I got from Cedric that Christmas, so I hadn't even read it yet.

George, Fred and Lee were all chatting with Gwen, but I wasn't listening to a single word they said. Too engrossed in my book, trying to find a way to feel closer to my brother. My now dead brother.

The train came to a stop after several long hours and students all rushed off to get to their families and friends.

School was over and Summer had technically begun.

My trunk sat by my feet, and I stood beside George on the platform.

Fred, Ron and Ginny were already with the rest of the family, but he stayed behind to talk to me.

"Promise you'll write?" I asked and he nodded. "I don't want to be completely alone this Summer."

"You won't be. I'll definitely owl you." He smiled down at me.

"You promise?"

"I promise."

I smiled and he pulled me into a hug.

"I'll see you in September." He whispered.

We pulled apart and I pressed a short kiss to his lips.

"See you then, George."
