It's Friday, the big day for me. My first homecoming ever and I'm incredibly excited for this mainly because I'm going to go as Josh's date. I don't know how to feel about this because I've never been to any prom or any ball. I'm barely invited to parties and let's say that I'm not that much popular. I thought that after this week when Josh is holding my hand or hugging me at the school people would start to like me but instead, they hate me for stealing their future boyfriend. I honestly didn't take him from anyone. We are not even dating and as I remember our deal that we made on Monday at school then it's all about me staying away from him, far away, right after the homecoming ball ends.

Dress! I remembered out of sudden and realize that I don't have anything to wear for tonight. I can't have the dress I had on my date with Josh a week ago. If I'm with him I don't want to have any type of clothing twice in a row. Not even thrice. Once is enough. I bet that he's not going to have the same tuxedo tonight so it would be fair. The shoes that I kept from that date are also not confirmed to wear tonight. It might sound stupid or cliché but I just don't want to be that type of a girl that looks like a real poor outsider that only wears one and the same thing.

"Guess who's here!" I hear a very familiar woman voice and clearly recognizing the Brazilian accent. My mom!  I run downstairs and when I see her standing there with all the bags and suitcases in the doors with the sweetest and happiest smile you could ever see, I can't help but grin and jump into her arms. Just as I did that, Cristiane, my mom has dropped all of her luggages to the ground just to hug me back. "I missed you so much, darling." mom whispered into my hear.

"I missed you too, mom. And I have a suprise for you." I said grinning, waiting for my brother's appearance but then my mother started asking me questions and so I waved my brother back.

"Do you have a boyfriend? Is that the suprise?"

"Haha, no. The suprise is surely not my boyfriend." I said with a disgust.

"Okay tell me about it. And how is the school sweetheart? Is it good? What's new? And why aren't you at school already?" She started putting the cups out and making a coffee for both of us. While she was making it and asking questions, I only sat there and happily smiled at her. I was so happy she was at home.

"Maybe you should add one more cup, mom." The woman with long dark brown wavy hair turned around and pierced her greenish and blueish eyes into mine, raising an eyebrow. I laughed about that. "The school is good and our teacher has some medical problems so he stayed home today. That means my classes are starting at nine." I continued not paying attention to her curious looks and started drinking the coffee she handed me.

"Who is the third one for? Is Mila up there? Or a boyfriend?"

"That's the suprise. Mila is at home and I'm..." I stopped talking because I didn't really know if the little flirts and hand holdings between me and Josh the past week could be considered as dating. "I'm not dating anyone right now, mom." I finally finished the sentence after a long hesitation and those greenish-blueish eyes that belonged to Cristiane piercing into mine.

"Alright darling. I wish your brother would hear you."

"Really? Why?"

"He would only make fun of you about that and then calling you a liar. And you know how cute your expressions are. He has called me last week. I wish I could see him." she sounded a little bit sad and disappointed that she can't see him. If you only knew, mom. I said to myself.

"Don't worry mom. He's alright and even better than that."

"How can you be so sure? Have you talked to him?" she asked as she took a sip of her coffee.
