Choices

Prologue

"Teddy get your shoes" I yelled picking up my purse making sure everything went I needed was in my bag

"Gun, gum, phone, toy," I mumbled going over the mental checklist I always had ready to go in my head

"I'm ready" teddy said excitedly bouncing out the bathroom smiling, I smiled back at my little boy and grabbed this floaty

"Okay come on and remember no-"

"No swimming till I have on sunblock I know momma" teddy cut me off

"Let's hurry I wanna swim" teddy hurriedly opened the door out to the hotel hallway and made a run to the elevators normally I'd tell him to stop and wait but I could see them and he was flipping his feet and legs all types of ways he wasn't really running more of a broken gallop. I reached the elevator and pushed the down button waiting teddy took the time to tell me about how him and his friends are going to the moon after practice when we come back I was half listen to
Him and half to our surroundings my son was an absolute joy on my life and I loved having time with him but any mother of a five year old understands how you can't listen to everything because half the time you don't even understand it

"Hold my hand" I stuck my hand out to teddy which he wrapped his hands around mine I looked both ways and started crossing the streets we were almost to the beaches side with a all black silver Escalade came whipping around the corner at a high speed that didn't look like they could stop immediately I pushed teddy onto the side walk he fell with a ouch but I was closer now and would be the one to get hit, the car came within an inch of my body before it stopped

"What the fuck if wrong with you there's a fucking beach and kids watch your fucking speed asshole" I cursed running over to teddy who still sat on the ground this time checking his hands and knees, teddy had a small scratch on his knee but it didn't bleed so he would be okay

"Are you okay do you wanna go home" I worriedly asked him, teddy nodded wildly at me still smiling

"I'm okay momma I flew like super man" he giggled jumping up and doing the Superman pose, laughing at him he was clearly adrenaline high I got up grabbing his hand. I turned around again glaring at the car that almost killed my baby when the side door and drivers door opened

"Fucking Christ" I mumbled rolling my eyes. I was ready for some college teenagers to get out the car probably high but two men in suits and completely covered sunglasses got out the car I stepped back covering teddy completely with my body

I glared at them as they just stood there arms crossed looking like men in black I was about to say something to them when a third door
Opened. A man walked out he was tall maybe 6'6 or 6'7 he was wearing suit pants and nice shoes taking long steps towards us he clearly had power and wealth but it didn't matter because I've faced worse and survived, the man rounded the corner now I could see him better dirty blonde hair covered eyes and a tattoo of a lion on the side of his neck

"A lion tattoo" I whispered to myself no longer glaring but squinting he was getting closer so I took steps back teddy behind me as well I've seen that tattoo before where where where

*flash back five years ago*

"So that's is your going to walk away from me from us?!" I yelled tears streaming rapidly down my face my eyes hurt but my heart hurt worse

"I love her I want to be with her you ment nothing to me your at fault for thinking you did" he said bitterly at me his face was hard and cold as he shut me down crushing me completely

"We've been friends since childhood we were lovers we were partners I've been with you every step of the way and I, I ment nothing to you" I cried harder all the memories of us came rushing back out birthdays our holidays all the special moments I shared with him I was a stuttering mess

"Yes you ment nothing now go before I make you" he told me harshly and grabbed Sarah by her shoulders bringing him to her immediately she clasped onto him

"No this is my home too" I defied wipping my eyes

"I said get the fuck out" he told me again but I stood my ground the pulled his gun

"Go before I shoot you" he had that look in his eyes so I stepped back nodding my head my tears stopped as I turned walking to the door my hand was on the noble when I turned staring him dead in the eyes giving him the same look he was giving me

"Dante Darius Roman you are dead to me dishonor be your death" I told him coldly opening the door slamming it behind me it was like closing my heart to him and his entire family I once saw as my own they threw me out the second some wounded puppy came about but I'm not wounded I'm brave and strong

*flash back over*

"Dante" I whispered in shock rage filled me without thought or second I picked up teddy and ran down the beach way, I refused to see or talk to that man I heard him yell at me in Italian my mother tongue but I kept
Going dashing in between people.
