Based off of what genres you said were your favourite, I've come to this conclusion:

7 votes for fantasy

7 votes for dystopian

4  votes for adventure

2 votes for mystery

3 votes for mythology

5 votes for romance

1 votes for horror

(No they're weren't 7 people who voted for dystopian or fantasy, but some people put multiple genres in their answer, and I counted each one as a vote).

I've come to the decision that the theme for this contest will be fantasy, but with dystopian themes (due to the fact that they both tied).

This means that your short story should take place in whatever fantasy world you want, whatever timeframe or realm you want, but there has to be a problem with how things are being run. There has to be some kind of rebellion towards this injustice. That's the dystopian part. 

Your short story:

(200 words minimum - 2000 words maximum)

- Your characters and story must be unique and original. No fanfiction or taking characters from other people's work or tv shows.

- Their must be a storyline of some kind. You want the readers to be thinking about the short story after, wishing for a whole book. 

- Swear words are allowed, just no offensive language.

- It has to be PG-13, no adult scenes

- You are welcomed to used BIPOC and 2SLGBTQIA+ characters. Though, no hate or discrimination towards these characters. Racism, homophobia, transphobia, islamophobia, xenophobia, etc, will not be tolerated.

If the injustice in your story (for the dystopian part) is one of the things listed above, that is allowed, just as long as the characters themselves and the story aren't enforcing racism, homophobia, transphobia, islamophobia, or xenophobia views and beliefs.

Having the characters and story enforcing the views listed above will not be tolerated, and you will automatically be disqualified from the contest and I will block you.

 - Characters must be 16+

- Again, must include a fantasy world, but with dystopian roots and themes. There must be some kind of injustice that causes a rebellion of sorts.

- Magic is welcomed.

- Whump scenes are allowed, just as long as it's not too graphic.

- Again, PG-13, so no r*pe or SA mentions or themes.

Due Date:

The deadline for submitting your story is at the of the day on May 10th. That means you have 8 days to work on it and submit it to me. 

How to submit:

PM me your story here on wattpad (via copy and paste). If you have problems doing so, please message me on my Conversations board. I will figure something out.

Voting:

Once all the stories have been submitted to me, I will post them here and give credit to you all for your stories. Everyone can read them. Once every story has been read, each participant must PM me their vote on which story they liked better.

I will talk more about voting and prizes when the due date nears.
