While there are eight basic functions, the middle two letters of your type and their opposites (F,T,S,N) can all either be Extroverted or Introverted. We type these so extroverted Feeling would be Fe, and introverted feeling would be Fi, and Extroverted Thinking is Te and introverted Thinking is Ti, and the same with S and N. Four of these are your cognitive functions, the functions you use the most. Your most used function is your dominant function, your second is your auxiliary function, the third is your tertiary function and the last is your inferior function.

The first letter of your type determines what order of introvert and extrovert your functions are. If it is I, the order will be ieie, if you are extrovert it will be eiei (functions are in order from dominant to inferior). The second and third letters are your dominant and auxiliary functions, and the last letter determines the order of the first two. If you are IxxP or ExxJ your first two functions will be swapped around from the order of your type (eg, INTP dominant and auxiliary functions are Ti then Ne)If you are IxxJ or ExxP then the first two functions remain in the same order (eg, INTJ dominant and auxiliary functions are Ni then Ti). If you know your auxiliary function, you can work out your tertiary function.

Auxiliary function | Tertiary functionTx                                   FxNx                                  SxSx                                   NxFx                                   Tx

Yes because they are in pairs (N and S, F and T)Now you work out your inferior function by using the function you haven't got yet and you've got your cognitive functions!

So INTP: TiNeSiFe                                                     INTJ: NiTeFiSe
INFP: FiNeSiTe
INFJ: NiFeTiSe
ISTP: TiSeNiFe
ISTJ: SiTeFiNe
ISFP: FiSeNiTe
ISFJ: SiFeTiNe
ENTP: NeTiFeSi
ENTJ: TeNiSeFi
ENFP: NeFiTeSi
ENFJ: FeNiSeTi
ESTP: SeTiFeNi
ESTJ: TeSiNeFi
ESFP: SeFiTeNi
ESFJ: FeSiNeTi

Okay now the descriptions of each function.Ti: Introverted Thinking - silently analysing everything in their heads, philosophy, big questions, the need to understand how something works. Often used for inventing.Te: Extroverted Thinking - decision making, authority. Extroverted thinkers are often bosses, good at telling others what to do and making decisions quickly and confidentlyFi: Introverted Feeling - sticking to ones own beliefs and knowing how you feel. People who use this function a lot tend to stick up for what they believe in and can even be very unaccepting of other peoples viewpoints.Fe: Extroverted Feeling - People with this as a cognitive function will find it easy to sympathise with people and will accept and try to understand other peoples viewpoints. They change more easily and will blend into social norms and go with the group.Si: Introverted Sensing - People who use this function a lot will often have eidetic or photographic memory. If this is a dominant or auxiliary function, the person will very easily recall details from the past, and compare that to the present. Si users dwell half in the past.Se: Extroverted Sensing - People with dominant or auxiliary Se live completely in the present. These are often adrenaline junkies, loving the thrill of life, living it at its fullest. Se users are a lot more active than Si users.Ni: Introverted iNtuition - This function causes a lot of frustration in school. Ni is a kind of sixth sense, where the user just KNOWS something is right, or something is wrong, but is unable to explain it, or finds it hard to be bothered going through all the work processes to get the that same answer AGAIN.

Ne: Extroverted iNtuition - This function is what people use to be imaginative. It gives you all the possible outcomes of the situation, however impossible they might be (wow that is ironic) So this is a great imaginative tool for inventors and sometimes... thieves, robbers, assassins, etc... Ne types tend to have more varied interests than Ni, and they focus less on the problem than dissecting parts of the problem and explaining them piece by piece before putting them together. Ne's will say 'variable x and variable y are this and that, so n must be true' while Ni's will more likely say 'n is definitely true because variable x and variable y both support it'.

I am personally an ENTJ, also remember this shit should not be taken to heart.
