Chapter One - Roses are red, violets are blue. I haven't missed you, what about you?

"Get off me!", I yelled like a lunatic and all the guys were starring at me like I really was one. You know with their eyes nearly jumping from ther sockets and so on. Dean and Matt, though, rolled theirs. I got up off my knees wanting to get to them - to rip their damn heads off their bodies. But Coach Brown gave me THAT look. So I counted to three in my head. 1...2...3. Nah...didn't work. So instead I lunched myself at the new guy.

I - a 120 pounds and a height of 5 feet - did throw him to the ground. You know why? Because I am good. I know all the techniques. Hit, fit, bring the hip out etc...

But I also seemed to get him off guard. He stumbled back and landed on his back with me still sitting on him. I started laughing like a maniac into the silence that had occured around me. Suddenly everyone moved and Dean pulled me off the new guy. Okay. New wasn't really the right description. Let's say Logan Reed. Logan who left four years ago. That thought, though, made me only get more furious.

"What's wrong with you, Luce?", he asked me. I tried to stop myself from laughing to hard. "Nothing. He disturbed my game. He walked into my run. I would have made it to the End Zone!" Anger welled up inside my chest. Dean sighed. "It's only a friendly game. Everyone here is part of our team. And G would have gotten you quite bad on your left shoulder if Logan wouldn't have stopped him. You may have been injured if he hadn't pulled you out of the way." I looked at Gordon. Gordon was our Center. Not being nice: He was fat and dumb. But really, really nice. I watched my shoes. Nike IDs with my Name on them - in pink and blue just to make clear I am a girl when I have my helmet on. They were a gift from my mother.

"You still don't get that I am not made out of sugar. I can bear just as much as you can!", I said getting louder with each word. "Just because I have no dig!"

All eyes turned to me. Also Logans'. I shifted uncomfortable. Coach Brown coughed silently and stepped into the middle of our crowd. "Ladies and Gentleman!!!!", he yelled and immediatley turned to me. "Luce! No one is questioning your strenght but we don't need you to get hurt just so short before the season starts. Logan did the right thing. We'll just replay the down."

So everyone got onto their positions. I went into a squad just behind the new guy - Logan. Who, according to the others, was a #1 Player in our League. But why he did come into my school and my team no one knew.

Okay. Maybe he had quite a hot ass. And I was positioned just behind him - with the best look onto it. I reached out my hand to reckon the distance and my fingertips brushed the soft fabric of his trousers. He looked back to me to see if I was done. When he turned around he yelled: "S.O.S - same old stuff! Get ready! On hut, on hut!!!" He looked around with his hands on Nats ass, who was our other Center. "Ready! Set! Fire back there! Back there! Hut!!!!" I started running getting the handoff of his hands. I concentrated on my run. Everything around me wasn't important to me anymore - only my mission counted. Getting the oval into our End Zone.

And of course I made it because I am starting Running Back. Because I am good at it. Because that is the onliest thing I am good at.

Coach Brown started clapping while Dean ran to me and pulled my into one of his bear hugs so that our helmets smashed together leaving a minor feeling of hurt.

I looked around to see Logan. To maybe also thank him for pulling me out of Gs' way. But he was gone. And so he would never get an excuse.

"Okay!", Coach Brown screamed. "We're finished for today! Shower and get dressed. I want you all back on the field tomorrow - slept out and full of energy!"

I smiled to myself walking into the girls' dressing room.

After having showered Coach Brown wanted to talk to me. I knocked on his door asking for entrance. From the inside I could hear a silent, deep allowance. I brushed a hand through my still damp hair and enter the old bureau of my even older Coach.

"Ah. Luce. There you are.", the elderly man exclaimed when I have entered and closed the door behind me. His chamber smells of cigaretts and weed - at least that's what Dean said. I in my life have never even smoked left alone intoxicated myself with weed. My team is one of the few teams at school that brings back some prices and that's why the room was stuffed full with prices in gold, silver and bronze.

I walked through the little space left between a giant desk piled with books and files and a black leather couch, which is deffinitley the newest object in that room.

Coach Brown smiled fondly at me as I took my seat. "So...", he started. "I don't know why it is but you seem to hate our new player - Logan. I get that your pissed and jealous but you two really will have to learn to get along. Good thing we'll be going to the camp in only one week and to make sure you two learn how to get along, I will make sure for you two to stay in one room." I sat there frozen shocked. These two weeks of training camp were supposed to be the best of the entire year. Dean, Matt and me wanted to stay in one room and have the best time of our lifes - a bit dramatic, I know, but still.

I opened and closed my mouth but couldn't come up with anything to say.

"Okay. Whatever is good for the team.", I said and when I looked up found him smiling at me. "I knew you would answer just like that."

I clenched my fists and walked out of the bureau.

Damn Coach.

Damn you, Logan Reed!

The corridor was deserted by now and only the dimm light spent me some light back to the girl's lockers room, where I had left my things. I sighed seeing that I had left the door wide open.

It happened before that some guys sneaked in to leave me some stupid message. I knew that it was no one from my team and I never complained. Somehow I got used to it.

I closed my eyes and opened the red door. The smell of sweat and cheap parfume got in my nostrils. A smell I was used to.

I popped up one eye and then the other and it it me.

Devastation.

Chaos.

Jah...not exactly like that. My bag was opened and empty when I lifted it up. My clothes and gear were all over the titled floor. Not that bad. My gaze fell onto my tampons who were piled on the floor. Tears filled my eyes. That was so emberassing.

No guy should ever see a girls' tampons - fact. I don't know why but we just get all worked up on it.

I got onto my knees and started collecting them when I noticed a litlle piece of paper next to the pile of white fluff. With shakeing hands I lifted it up andstarted reading.

Roses are red. Violets are blue. I haven't missed you, what about you?

I knew exactly who did this to me and my heart crushed into a million pieces. It shouldn't, I guess because I hated him just as much as he obviously me but I had thought that we could go back to normal. And he didn't have the right to be mad at me. Not after having left me like that six years ago.
