The following morning began with much nostalgia. Sitting on the second-floor balcony with your grandmother, drinking coffee in silence as you watched the sun slowly peek through the trees surrounding the property, and some telenovela played in the background from inside. Your smile widened as a text lit up your phone screen.
"Te Amo Abuelita." You kissed her cheek, placing your cup in the sink before bouncing down the stairs to be met with Suga sitting way too comfortably in the biggest, brightest minivan you have ever seen. You raised an eyebrow at him, doing your best to swallow the laugh that bubbled up as you opened the door to him looking very casual in the driver's seat.
"It was all they had, okay?" He huffed. Putting your arms up in surrender, you chuckled as you slid into the passenger seat.
"When do we have to get the kids from soccer?" You laughed unable to contain yourself as he playfully pushed on the shoulder closest to him. "Okay! Okay! I'm done!" You giggled, leaning back into the seat.
The drive was peaceful, windows rolled down as soft music played through the speakers. You watched the scenery pass you, occasionally pointing out places you remember from your childhood. Pointing out schools you went to, and places you used to walk to. Pointing out how everything had changed from the last time you were there. Twelve years is a long time after all. You made him stop in a small, makeshift parking lot on the side of the road along the mountains to grab food, silence surrounding you both as you focused on the taste of food you hadn't indulged into in many years. Continuing your adventure, joking, and laughing every time Suga made a comment about how long of a run he would have to take to make up for all the food he was planning on eating. The day quickly winding down with the fun the two of you were having.
Your phone buzzed in your pocket as you sat in the passenger seat. The sky turning into different shades of reds and orange as the sun set in the distance. Taking a moment to enjoy the view, you held your phone in your hand. Felling it buzz again you looked down. It was your mom, asking if you were okay and when you would be back home. Your fingers lingered just above the screen as you thought of how to respond. You turned to Suga, he stared at the distance watching the sun set. His hair softly framing his face while his eyes focused far away. His lips turned up in a soft smile, a pink hue covering his cheeks. You smiled to yourself turning your attention back to your phone to send a message to your mother. Telling her not to worry, you were with Suga still, and considering this was your usual movie night with the group, you would be doing that and crashing on his couch. Your mother, ever the comedian responded by telling Suga to be a gentleman and leave you the bed.
With a chuckle you looked over to Suga, "You know it's technically movie night." His eyes widened in surprise, before returning to his usual peaceful form.
"I guess it is huh?" He smiled and began rambling about movie options and the snack he had in the room he rented for the duration of his stay. We decided to stop on our way back for snacks and drinks. Excitedly exiting the car with our chips, soda, and popcorn I followed Suga to his space.
"Welcome to my home away from home!" He held the door open with a grin and allowed you to step past him. Dropping the bags on a kitchen island, you took a moment to look around the room. From the door you stepped into a small kitchen, an island separating it from a small living room area, a couch to one side, a TV against the opposite wall and another door. Peering in you saw a large bed, another TV and a door to what you assumed was the bathroom.
"Couch?" Suga asked, watching you curiously as you looked around the space. You smiled, taking things out of bags to place in containers and the fridge. As you turned to put a bag of popcorn in the microwave you heard a chuckle from behind you. Turning to lift an eyebrow at Suga, he placed his hands in front of him, motioning you to stay there and walked into the room shutting the door quickly behind him. Confused, you stared at the door for a moment waiting for it to open, only to be met with silence. With a shake of your head, and a chuckle you continued preparing the snacks and placing the extra drink bottles in the fridge to cool. Turning back around from the fridge, you found yourself almost nose to nose with Suga who had the biggest smile on his face. His smile addicting as you met it with one of your own.
"COMING SOON TO A THEATER NEAR YOU!" He screams from the bedroom doorway in his best announcer voice causing me to burst into a fit of giggles. I walk into the room, only to be face to face to face with a blanket.
"Your pillow fort awaits you." Suga doubled over in an exaggerated bow as I snuck past him and into the fort. Sitting with my legs crossed beneath me at the edge of the bed.
"So, what are we watching?" I asked curiously, tossing a piece of popcorn into my mouth. Suga started scrolling through the options on the TV, after a while settling on an action movie, he was excited to see me watch.
