"𝘣𝘳𝘰𝘬𝘦𝘯 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘣𝘺.""i believe you."
______relief washed over [mother's name] as she heard her daughter say those words. y/n was visiting her mom in prison and they were sitting on opposite sides of a glass window. y/n knew that her mom was innocent after she heard what toga had said back at the bar. the only problem was that no one would believe her.
it pained y/n to look at her mom. [mother's name] looked like she hadn't slept in a long time and she had gotten way skinnier. to think about what her mom had possibly gone through in that jail, made y/n mad. she wished she had the money to bail her out or the willpower to break her out, but she knew she wasn't able to do either of those.
you know who could easily bail her out? endeavor. he doesn't want to though because it could ruin his reputation as a hero and he cared more about that than [mother's name]. when he told her that he wasn't going to help her, she was shocked and wounded mentally. maybe the "friendship" they had was one-sided.
"so, i'm moving to the states." y/n spoke as she played with the spiral cord attached to the phone. her mom nodded. "i think that's good and hopefully safer than here." in all honesty, [mother's name] didn't want her daughter to leave, but she knew that it would be better if she did.
"i heard you spoke at his funeral and said some beautiful things." [mother's name] said, causing y/n to remember the ceremony that was held for her father not that long ago. she slowly nodded as the memories played in her head like a movie. it was a peaceful ceremony that y/n hoped her dad would've wanted. "i just wish you could've been there." the young girl said tears forming in her eyes. "me too princess."
they spoke until the time was up and bid goodbye and a 'see you later' to each other before y/n left. she wished that she could've hugged her mom. she wished that none of this had happened and that it was all a dream. however, no matter how many times she attempted to "wake up", it didn't work. proving that this was the true reality. a reality she wished she wasn't in.
_____.
ochaco and tobio helped y/n load her bags into [aunts name] car. it was moving day and the trio had hugged and cried for 20 minutes before y/n was reminded by her aunt that they had a flight to catch. todoroki didn't show up, which saddened y/n since she wanted to say bye to him as well, but she decided not to dread on it. 'he probably needs some space anyway' she thought.
tobio looked at ochaco and she took the signal to give y/n one last hug before stepping away. the boy helped y/n place her last bag into the trunk of the car, then he grabbed her hand and used his thumb to trace circles on her knuckles . "promise to not forget about me ok." she smiled at the gesture. "of course not. why would i want to forget you?" he smirked as he placed his free hand on her cheek. "you love me don't you."
"nigga, i didn't say all of that." y/n laughed as she slowly shook her head. "but you're thinking it." he said. "right." the sarcasm present in the girl's voice. "before you go.." tobio started to say, sounding a little nervous. "i- uhh can i kiss you?" he asked looking away as his hand slipped off of her cheek.
y/n was confused as to why he was acting shy when the first time they kissed there wasn't an ounce of nervousness in him. "yes." she answered, gaining his attention back. once he was facing her again, she took no time to close the gap between them. tobio was surprised by this but melted into the kiss not long after.
it was short and sweet and when they pulled away y/n asked him, "why were you so nervous?" he scratched the back of his neck, acting like he didn't know what she meant. "nervous? i wasn't nervous. you were nervous." y/n stared at him before letting out a small laugh. "ok tobio."
the car horn honked spooking the two as they moved apart. "come on y/n!" [aunts name] called out from the driver's seat of the car. "right i've got to go." y/n closed the trunk, then gave tobio one last hug. "bye, i'll see you soon." after that, she went to the passenger side of the car and got in. she waved to tobio and ochaco until the car turned the corner.
she thought about all that's happened and couldn't believe that she was moving away. it felt like just yesterday she got into u.a. and saw shoto again for the first time in 10 years. speaking of which, she wished that their relationship could've grown more. maybe if she were to do something differently. maybe if they had more time. just maybe they would've been as close as they were before, but it seems like that's not the way life wanted it to go.
then she thought about the league. she hoped that they keep their promise and don't try anything while she's gone. if only she could forget about that and try to live comfortably in the states, but she knew that it would be difficult to do that and an uneasy feeling still lingered over her. she brushed that to the back of her mind as she stared out the window and watched the bustling city. she was going to miss it.
"see you later japan."
