Tears and lost hope

Although her dad had gone Lilly and her mum had to carry on as normal although nothing that happened next was normal at all...

A couple of months passed and Lilly was finally smiling and happy again, but for how long? Well that's what we are about to find out.
Lilly came home from school this Wednesday to find her mum and a tall angry looking man standing in the kitchen, "mummy who's that man" Lilly said with fear, "just a friend baby that's all" she got in reply.  "Hello you must be Lilly right?" The strange man asked. Lilly just stared and said nothing, then ran upstairs scared that she had just been spoken to by a stranger in her home.

Anyway a few days passed and this man was still in the house and to Lilly's surprise shared a bedroom with her mummy! As strange as that seemed to almost 4 year old Lilly she could do or say nothing that would change that.
Everyday after school he would be there and he started acting strange as if he was getting too comfortable in her childhood home!

It was a Saturday night and Lilly was watching her favourite television show happily until her mum walks in the living room with a great big red mark on her cheek "mummy what happened to your face, is it poorly, can I kiss it better" said Lilly worryingly, " no baby girl I don't think a kiss will make it better but don't worry I will be fine I just fell over" her mum replied with tears in her eyes.

Weeks went by and with Lilly being so young she thought no more of it. Until the marks turned into cuts and the man was still there getting more and more comfortable in her home.

One day Lilly went to school and told the teacher about her mummy falling over and hurting herself, her teacher then reported it to the school where it got took no further.

Weeks and weeks went by and men came and went from the home each time leaving Lilly and her mum more and more scared each time.
When Lilly turned 4 nothing changed everyday somebody new would be in the house all sharing a room with her mum!

A year later this had just stopped and everything seemed calm and Lilly and her mum lived happily ever after....... until they didn't.
