"It's been centuries since a time when the human race was at peace. Things changed, surprisingly quickly and... it's not been great. Radioactive material... a spillage took place in 2124 and now most of the world is covered in radioactive waste. More and more people are falling to sickness and only a small percentage of people are still healthy. We, I, have decided, the human race is going to die out if we don't do something. A small, selected few who have short term immunity to the sickness spreading around will be sent to a deserted island. This island is one of the only safe havens on Earth, free from radioactive pollution. They will spark the beginning of the new human race and as the world dies out around them, they will live on to bring to beginning, the restart of the human race" President Kathryn A. Smith, President of America finished her speech quickly and murmurs soon began to float around, they were questioning the intelligence of this decision. Kathryn knew, she had to get the approval of the entire Government to go through with this operation, Kathryn looked about at them. If they waited any longer, it would be too late so she spoke up.

"This is our only chance of survival."

The words hung heavy in the room and a deathly silence fell upon the Meeting, a silence similar to the one that befell them before World War 3. World War 3 was the cause of the spillage. People were so busy trying to kill each other, when they realised, it was too late. The water had become too polluted to save and it spread, it spread faster than anticipated. Kathryn set her hand upon the table. "All in favour of this operation, raise your hand" Her tone was cold and serious, this was no joking matter. It was this or it was extinction. Soon enough, the room went into motion, hands slowly going up as everyone agreed. Nobody was happy with the decision but there was no choice. "Who?" The President of Canada spoke up, it was a question that had been settling on everyone's mind for a while. Kathryn looked across the room at him, Ryan J. Phillips. A close friend of hers at one point, allies in the War.

"A group of teenagers, so far, from my observation, the younger people are the ones least effected, they appear to have less of a risk of catching anything" Kathryn spoke aloud and her words hit strong, they were now relying on the children to fix their problems, Ryan looked down, he shook his head then looked up.

"We need the brightest and strongest in our countries, we need people who are definitely able to survive" He looked around then looked straight at Kathryn, "If... we're going by the charts, your daughter would be in the Top 10 in America" he said, Kathryn looked stricken, her face a mixture of sadness and utter shock. "So... Arianna... how about Kale?" Ryan nodded and Kathryn sighed, she eventually nodded, she gave Ryan a look. "Fine... I don't like it, but I'll do it" She sounded calm but Ryan knew better, she was utterly distressed, he looked around at the rest of the members of the meeting.

"So, we agree, we are sending kids to this deserted island?"

Everyone silently nodded, Kathryn slowly regained control of her emotions.

"Meeting dismissed!"
