Piper had quickened her pace until she was at a sprint. Seeming as though the hallway went on for eternity, she tried to think out an escape before it caught her. Suddenly, Piper was frozen in midair; her mind wiped clean of all thoughts. Slowly sinking to the ground, she felt her heart implode, slowly sucking her soul away like a black hole. Piper’s vision had turned a vibrant, blood red. Only inches from the ground; the gravital force that had stolen her soul had stopped and left a hollow body that had limply slumped to the ground. Piper’s eyes closed. Her breathing had ceased, but she was still alive. Only now she was nothing but a strung up puppet.

                                    Open.

Black as coal glass balls replaced her blue eyes; her vision still blood red. Arising from the floor by a supernatural power, her strings tightened. There was a crack of lightning as she stood up straight; stiff as concrete. Piper turned towards the mirror without even shifting. Her reflection showed strings attached to all her joints. A stitching started to sew its way around her neck and down her spine. Fangs blacker than night began to protrude from her gums. Piper’s thoughts were not her own anymore. Seeing her reflection gave her great pleasure. Grinning wickedly, Piper turned towards the way she came running. She started to glide to the exiting stairs that led out into her targeting prey of the night. Piper had finally given into the gamble for her life. Such a deadly price to pay.
