Chapter 9

I stared in the mirror my hair fell at my shoulders with the light blue dress that stopped right above my knee. I heard my brother yell from down stairs "Dani, your date is here" I felt my heart start beating faster as I walked down the stairs as my converse reached the bottom it was like my feet got heavy. The closer I got to the door the more I felt like I was walking to my doom. I looked up at him standing in the doorway wearing a nice button up t-shirt and blue jeans. He smiled at me with his icy blue eyes as he spoke "hey beautiful" I felt my cheeks heat up as my brother cleared his throat "I'm walking away from this conversation, see ya Derek" he nodded in his direction as my brother left the room. I didn't trust myself with him alone.. Derek held out his hand "shall we?" I took it feeling like I just made a deal with the devil. Derek walked me to his pick up that was taller than me. Derek open the door for me and held out his hand as I climbed into the passenger seat before he shut the door and walked around before climbing into the driver seat. Derek started the truck causing it to roar to life, he looked over at me "any idea where you want to go?" I couldn't help but smile "shouldn't you choose? you're the one who decided we should go on a date" Derek chuckled "I wanted to go on a date so I can show you off, I want you. I want this" he reached across and grabbed my hand causing little sparks to erupt across my body. I looked at him confused "do you feel that?" he smiled at me "that's what happens when you're meant to be with someone" I found myself smiling while rolling my eyes "how do you know that we're meant to be?" he looked at our hands "the way our bodies react to each other" I raised my eyebrow at him "you act like this is one of the fairy tales where we fall in love and live happy ever after" Derek smiled at me "how do you know that's not going to happen?" I shrugged "we're in high school, the number of couples who last is low" Derek chuckled at me before turning his eyes back to the road as he pulled out of my driveway. I stared out the window as the buildings passed until we pulled into a parking lot. I looked around the parking lot for and evidence of where we were. Derek looked at me while he held up one finger "wait right there" I nodded as he hopped out of the truck and opened the door with a smile on his face "Malady" I smiled as I hopped out of the truck. Derek took my hand causing the little sparks to fill my boy, I found myself liking the feeling. We walked towards the building that has a sign that read "Mike's pizza" causing me to look at him as he opened the door "pizza?" Derek shrugged "you can never go wrong, as long as you don't tell me you like pineapples on your pizza" I scrunched up my nose "ew" causing him to laugh as I walked passed him into the building. You could tell the place has been around forever because the brick walls were faded. Derek walked me to the counter causing a smile from the women behind the counter "Hi Derek sweetie!" Derek gave the women a friendly smile "Hi Ms. Sam" Sam looked at me with a smile "What can I get you two love birds?" Derek looked at me "What do you like?" I shrugged "Pepperoni is fine with me" Derek looked back a Sam "half pep, half meat lovers" Sam smiled as she wrote it on her notepad "coming right up" she walked to the back as Derek led me to a table away from peering eyes. I looked at him "you hiding me?" Derek shook his head with a smile "nope, I just want to have a conversation with you and not have other's listening" I smiled at him teasingly "then why'd you bring me to a place that you obviously took me somewhere you take all your dates?" Derek looked at me so confused and shocked causing me to laugh as they brought our pizza over. Derek pointed at me "you're mean you know that?" I smiled "I got to play hard to get" Derek grabbed a slice of pizza and began to take bites. I followed him and grabbed a piece of my pepperoni pizza and took a bite. Derek watched me with a expression I couldn't place causing me to smile "What?" Derek returned my smile "nothing, you just make eating pizza look good" I rolled my eyes "where did you get that line?" Derek laughed as he finished his pizza. We sat there enjoying small talk when Derek held out a slice of his pizza "try this?" he said in more of a question then statement. I took a bite which I realize now was bigger than a sample bite causing him to smile as he took a bite out of the same slice. I smiled at him "it's not too bad" Derek smiled at me "damn, I think I'm in love with you" I rolled my eyes with a smile "this is only our first date" Derek's smile increase "so what I am hearing is that you're enjoying this so much that you want to go on another?" I pushed him slightly "don't get cocky on me". Once we finished eating we walked back out to his truck where he wouldn't let me open my own door no matter how much I fought him, I lost. Derek pulled back into my drive way, as soon as he cut the engine I hurried to open my door. I barely hopped out of the truck when Derek appeared next to the door with a look on his face causing me to smile as I walked towards my house. Derek walked next to me "I enjoyed tonight" I nodded "me too" I stopped in front of my front door and looked at Derek "why me?" Derek raised his eyebrow "What do you mean?" I shrugged letting out a sigh "why did you want to go on a date with me? Derek stepped closer to me "because I feel this pull to you Dani, I want to get closer to you" I fought the smile wanting to be seen "why do you got to say things like that?" Derek smiled "So I could get closer to you" he placed his lips on mine causing my hands to run down his arms as they wrapped around my waist. I felt the spark erupt from his fingers onto my body causing me to sink into him. I felt my self walking backwards until my body was against the wall as I ran my tongue along his bottom lip, I let my tongue explore his mouth tasting the pizza we had earlier. Derek moaned into my mouth causing me to smile as I wrapped my arms around his neck pulling him closer to me. I pulled his bottom lip into my mouth causing Derek's fingers to grip my waist as he let out a low moan before he pulled away resting his forehead against mine as we caught our breathe, Derek smiled at me "you drive me crazy already" I smiled at him "ditto". Derek placed his lips on mine lightly before pulling away "Good night Dani" I smiled "good night Derek" I watch him walk away before I stepped inside and closed the door and pressing my back against it not being able to help the smile on my lips. I ran my fingers along my lips feeling the sparks still there, I loved the way my body reacted to him. I slowly made my way up yo my room and threw myself on my bed with a sigh.
