Chapter 5 try outs

After the final bell Aubree was waiting on me at my locker with a huge grin on her face "you ready?" I nodded opening my  locker before grabbing my gym bag that had my name stitched into the side. I liked the fact that I could be a cheerleader and feel as if i was close to home.. close to Addison ... and Jackson. I couldn't help as I walked onto the field with Aubree by my side as she walked in front of me and stopping in front of the group of girls on the sidelines. My heart raced as my eyes landed on him, i have a feeling he felt my eyes on him because he looked up before meeting my eyes and smirking. his smirk made me feel like i wanted to punch him .. at the same time kiss him, why? I returned the smirk before i turned away from him. I looked at Aubree who smiled as she talked to the other girl who had their hair pulled back in tight ponytail with a crimson red ribbon wrapped around it. Aubree and the girls giggled before turning to me "we have decided since you were the only one here your on the team if you can do a move with a special trick" I bit my lip I never just did a back flip, I had to add my own twist to it. I nodded as I got in a position to do it before executing it and doing a double back flip. The girls cheered at i looked up to see his eyes looking at me with amusement, my eyes wondered to his lips who were in a perfect smirk. My attention was torn from him as Aubree grabbed my shoulder "that was awesome" I gave her a smile "thanks" Aubree began to talk about the game Friday and how she would give me my own uniform and how i would have to wear the ribbon in my hair any chance I could. After Aubree told me the rules of being a cheerleader we told everyone goodbye before splitting up. I began to make my way towards the school when I herd my name causing me to stop and turn to see a guy walking towards me wearing a football jersey "hey Danielle right?" I nodded "yeah, that's me" the closer her got the more I recognized him from one of my classes. He began to rub the back of his neck which let me know he was nervous "so i was wondering if you would like to hang out sometime" I bit my lip nervously as i looked around to see him across the field staring at me as if he could hear me, I turned my attention back to him "uh , I'm not really looking for anyone at the moment" he looked so embarrassed which made me feel bad. he shrugged it off as he continued "that's fine.  I will see you at the party after the game?" I nodded knowing the girls would force me "yeah ill see you there"
