Honestly, Kouki was glad when the party finally came to its end. It’s not like it was that bad or something, it’s just that he felt Akashi’s eyes on him everywhere he went. He was too scared to look around and find out if the redhead was really watching him or not, though. This was the first time in a long time that he had a chance to see the famous Akashi Seijuurou with his own two eyes, and he could say that Akashi was still kind of scary.
Those red eyes which were following him the whole evening were somewhat really terrifying. He didn’t even know why Akashi had been watching him; he didn’t do anything wrong, at least he thinks so. There wasn’t a reason for Akashi to keep his eyes on him, right? Whatever it is, his job here was done and he will probably never see Akashi again, so there’s no point in stressing over why the redhead was watching him.
It also felt weird when he thought about it; this morning he couldn’t even imagine that he would ever meet Akashi Seijuurou again and now, he is wondering why was the man watching him. Maybe Kuroko told Akashi something about him after he left. Yes, that’s right; Kouki was gone before the bluenette could introduce him to Akashi properly, because there wasn’t any reason to introduce somebody like him to the great CEO of Akashi Corporation. It would be pointless to introduce himself, because there is no way that someone like Akashi could possibly care about his name. It was clear from the glare Akashi gave him when he saw him talking with Kuroko.
It wasn’t the first time he’d received this glare; honestly, there are people who just love to show him that they are far better than him in every possible way. He is already used to it, but he can’t say it doesn’t hurt when someone looks at him like that. It’s true that he isn’t rich, famous or successful like them, but that doesn’t give them the right to look at him like he is a useless human being.
But as he said, he got used to it. He is okay with the way he lives and he doesn’t want to change anything; he likes his job and the workplace is awesome too, his apartment isn’t very big, but it’s nice and comfortable enough, he is okay with everything but his little sister - Michiko. Everything would be great if his sister were healthy. But Kouki is sure that she’ll be fine in no time. He will do anything for her to be fine again and he won’t stop working until his sister’s better. Today’s pay was really good and if it continues like this, he will have enough money for her operation soon.
The only thing he can do for now is to visit her every time he doesn’t have to work. He wanted to visit her today as well, but it was already late, so there was a chance that she was sleeping already. He is sleepy too, but there is no way he would pass the chance to go to see her after he promised that he’ll go today. It doesn’t matter if she’s sleeping or not, he wants to see her; he couldn’t see her for three days because of his work. He isn’t sure if he can visit her tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, the restaurant he works in has been really busy lately.
Kouki sighed and grabbed his bag. He should hurry if he wants to be in the hospital before 10 pm. He needs some sleep before his next shift, which will start tomorrow at 6 am. He can already see how full the restaurant will get tomorrow; after all, it’ll be Saturday. People always talk about how amazing the weekends are, but he totally hates weekends; on weekends his shifts are even longer, because many people want to celebrate, invite friends for dinner or just go out and eat something good. Either way, it’s really time to go, he can think about things like that while walking.
“Okay, I have to go. See you tomorrow.” Kouki smiled at his friend who was still changing. He would wait for him so they can leave together, but he really doesn’t have the time for waiting.
“Yeah, bye!”
He closed the door quietly and took a look at his cellphone once again; the nurse wouldn’t let him in after 10 pm, so he has only 20 minutes left. Naoki‘s been working as a nurse for almost six years, as she told him. Naoki is really nice and she cares about her patients pretty much too. She is aware that Kouki cannot visit his sister through the day, so she told him that he could come after work, even if the visiting hours were already over. Of course he understood he couldn’t tell anyone, so Naoki didn’t have to remind him. He was – and still is - very thankful for her help, because he didn’t think he could visit his sister so often otherwise.
