I put on a new pair of jeans that I haven't worn yet. My shirt is a simple black button-up, sleeveless shirt with lace trim on the shoulders.
"Wow, I like your outfit a lot," Anaya tells me. I smile and she offered me her eyeliner and lipstick. I put a low shade of each, probably nothing, but looked better on me. She has worn a green dress that looks good with her newly colored red hair. I envy her confidence, I have to admit.
"Okay. Raghav just texted he'll be here any minute."
" Then we should not make your brother wait. Let's go down."
We were following a trail. When we reached down, Raghav was standing by the car. He opened the car door for us like a gentleman he is, but Anaya closed the door shut and ordered us to follow her. Both Raghav and I were confused as we were walking at the back of the campus and then into the woods, the woods that I watch from my window. Now we are walking a narrow path lined by wildflowers and waist-high grass.
I could hear the faint sound of the music coming from a distance. Maybe it's my curiosity of what lays ahead, it felt like we were walking for eternity. My eyes bulging and narrowing, I proceed onto bouncing a little on my toes and bumping into Anaya more.
"Are you taking revenge?" She asked. I gave her a puppy look. "Here we are!"
Loud, rather exploding speakers welcomed us, making every particle in my body vibrate. The place was crowded with people. There was a bonfire in the middle of the clearing around which people were dancing. There was a river flowing by which I didn't notice at first. The only source of light was from the bonfire, or else everywhere was darkness. This could have been a more romantic place without the loud noise and drunk people. Drunk?
I looked at Raghav, but he seemed settled as if he had known this. Of course, he has, whom I am fooling. It's new for me not for the world.
Anaya disappeared as soon as we arrived, so there's only me and Raghav that gives us free time. I ran my eyes everywhere searching for something to talk about. Finding a counter of snacks and drinks, I asked, " Do you want a cold drink?". He nods.
We headed towards the table. Grabbing a drink for us, we searched for a less crowded place.
