Rudolph left us halfway to go meet another soul which left Me and Graye, alone again. We had gone up another stair case that didn't drain me as much as I thought it would, I offered myself the explanation that I was just excited because I had a job now, something to look forward to. But that creeped out most parts of my brain so I left it.
Graye lead me through many corridors I failed to remember, and stopped at a door, it was bigger than the other doors around the area, and basically reeked authority, how a room smelled like that, don't ask me.
Graye without hesitation opened the door and pushed me in. Inside, the room was really big, and I couldn't help but link it to how small my apartment was back on earth was, even though I didn't even remember it well. But I seeming to remember some things in this room.
And it scared me.
Graye pointed a mirror in the corner of the door, with was covered by a beige coloured blanket, "Can you bring that over?" He asked and I nodded, "Sure." I felt Graye watching me as I struggled to get to the mirror.
The first few steps towards it were alright, but as soon as i was getting close, I could feel something pushing me back. I wanted to ask Graye for help but he'd obviously made me do this because he wanted to see something in me, I knew that much pretty well.
I managed to get close enough to the mirror after a few very long moments and yanked the blanket off its proud face. The feeling of being pushed I felt suddenly gave away and I almost fell on the ground. Grumpily, I held the mirror against my body and walked it in front of Graye.
I placed it down and stood beside Graye who looked at me with amusement, obviously finding my pain hilarious. He then walked towards the mirror and went behind it, I heard something click not too long after. Nothing happened in the mirror for a while.
I waited for Graye to come back, muttering some colorful words directed at him. As if he heard me, he poked his head from the back of the mirror and gave me a thumps up, Graye then walked behind me and pushed me towards the mirror.
I was immediately alarmed and I pinched the skin on his arm, to which I heard a low groan. "What was that for Stanley?" He mumbled, letting go of me. I turned to him and scowled, "Why are you tryna make me and the mirror one, Graye?" I said, gritting my teeth.
"Look at the mirror butthole." He said, hurt aching at his voice to which I turned to look at myself at the mirror And I did see myself, but I saw something huge behind my back too. "Wings?!" I shouted, turning to Graye who started whistling, his eyes trying to avoid mind.
I touched my neck with my hands and went down slowly, not long after I had, I felt soft feathers touching me back. I was both shocked and excited. I could feel my wings too, like it's muscle was part of me. I covered my wings around me and could finally see it in all its glory.
I touched my white wings in wonder, smoothing each feather out carefully. I let out a small chuckle and looked at Graye who was looking at me too, looking pretty guilty, "You need to be able to fly to keep up with your human, hence the wings, its a protocol. Im sorry I didn't tell you earlier." He mumbled.
