Finally Free

Ryder's POV

Just as I got close enough to grab the mask guy, he turned around sharp and *SHOOT* everything went black...

Chase's POV

Ryder ran towards the mask guy, while I ran towards Jack. Ryder was ahead of me and I was a little behind. I saw Ryder get close enough to the mask guy to stop him. However, just as he was about to stop him, *SHOOT* a gunshot was heard. It was as if everything had come to a pause. It was impossible to tell who had been shot because it was too dark.

I ran faster towards them. The police surrounded the scene in a matter of seconds. Jack and the Mask Guy couldn't run any further because the police had surrounded them too. Just as I got closer, I... saw... RYDER!!! He was lying on the ground motionless! 'RYDER!!!' I screamed and ran towards him. 'Ryder wake up! Wake up!!' I said, my eyes welling up with tears. I turned around and saw Marshall and Rubble coming towards us. "We heard a gunshot! Are you guys okay?" Rubble said. 'Guys! Ryder got shot! We need to help him HURRY!!!'

Hearing this gave them both a huge shock. Marshall went to get his ambulance while I and Rubble stayed with Ryder. We were about to leave for the hospital when Marshall said "Chase, you should stay here with the cops and Jack to track down Skye. We'll take care of Ryder." 'But.. but wha-' I got cut off by Marshal saying "Skye needs you more, Chase. Just trust me." Saying that they left. I just hope he's going to be alright...

Marshall's POV

I drove my vehicle as fast as I could towards the hospital, while Rubble had gone to the Lookout to tell Zuma and Rocky about this horrific incident. On the way, I was in such a rush. My eyes were filled with tears and my whole body was shaking.

 All that was on my mind was Ryder. The worst thing that could ever happen was losing him... He used to be there when I used to get scared... he used to be the one to catch me when I fall... he used to cheer me up when I used to be sad... I don't know where I would've been if he wasn't there. All I could do right now was hope that he would be alright... 

Chase's POV

Okay, so Marshall was with Ryder so I didn't need to worry about that. My current mission was to find Skye. I walked up to Jack to ask him some questions. As I walked up to him, he had this weird angry/guilty kind of look covering his face. He got startled when he saw me walking towards him. Maybe he was just scared that he'd had to pay a heavy price for all the bad things he had done to us. If this actually was the case, then he's 100% right. 

Anyway, I just straight up started questioning him, and surprisingly he answered every single one of them. With all the information he gave, we somehow managed to find the place where Skye was being held captive. That place was a cave with a remote-controlled door, and it looked kind of similar to Mayor Humdinger's lair. The door was closed, and there was no remote.

I needed to find an opening so I could get in. 'Arf! Night vision goggles!' I activated my goggles and started looking for some kind of opening in the walls. Within seconds I spotted a small hole that was wide enough for a pup to fit through, It was a little high up. 'Arf arf! Wall climbers!' I used my wall climbers to access that hole easily and finally got in.

When I got in, it was so dark I couldn't see a thing! But this was no problem for me. 'Ruff ruff! Light!' Good thing I had my spy gear. This place was really huge and smelled really bad. As I was exploring the cave, I heard a small voice calling my name. "Chase...? Is that you?" Skye! It was Skye who called my name! 'Skye!' I called her name out loud. Man was I happy to see her! 

Skye's POV

I had been in this dark and creepy place for so long! If I stay here for at least one more hour, I think I'm gonna go insane! Please! Someone find me!!!

After like 15 whole minutes, I heard some kind of sound. It sounded like something falling. Then I heard footsteps and saw a flashlight. I was curious to see who it was so I walked up to that light. As I got close to the light I saw... Chase!! He found me! I was so happy to see him!

Skye: Finally! I'm so glad you found me.

Chase: Yeah me too! are you okay?

Skye: I guess I am. I've been locked in this cold, dark, and smelly place for quite a long time. I was urging to see some sort of light.

Chase: Alright Skye, we need to get out of here Asap.

Skye: Is everything alright? And... where's Ryder?

Chase: I'll explain everything on the way, let's go!

I hopped in with Chase in his vehicle as I didn't have mine at the moment. 

*Time skip*

Chase had told me everything that had happened. Honestly, I could say that this was the saddest day of my life... It took us about 40 minutes to get to Adventure Bay hospital because it was pretty far from where we were coming from. When we arrived at the hospital, the entire team was standing outside the room Ryder was in. They were all happy to see me, but they were also all sad, so was I.

There was a small tv screen in the waiting area that showed the local news channel. We were just sitting there waiting when our attention was drawn by what was on TV. It was about the incident that occurred with us. About what had happened in the previous 7 months. About what had happened to Zuma, Chase, me, and now Ryder. About Jack and... the guy in the mask... They had revealed his identity! He was... Mayor Humdinger?!?! We all were shocked! Wow... that person would do anything to stop us... good thing he was taken into custody.

After waiting for a long time, the doctor came out of the room. Chase asked him how everything was going. "How is he doing?" "He's doing just fine and is also awake." The Doc answered. "Can we go in?" Marshall asked. "Sure" The doc said and left.

Ryder's POV

I woke up in a bright room, lying on a bed. It took some time for me to recall everything that had happened. Then I heard the door opening. I looked at the door and saw... Pups! They all were there! Skye was there too! I was so happy to see them!! All of us were overjoyed to finally be together. They all jumped on the bed and sat all around me. To be honest, it was really cozy.

"Ryder! We're so glad you're okay! and We're so happy to see you!" Were the comments passed on to me by the pups. "I'm happy to see you too pups!" 

We had a fun time chatting together. And they also told me the good news! Jack and Mayor Humdinger AKA Mask Guy were arrested. Finally! No more crazy life-threatening missions! And no more betrayals. We can finally continue the perfect lives we were living before Jack came into our lives. I called everyone into a long, cozy, and warm group hug.

I can't believe this!!!! My first ever story on Wattpad has finally come to an end! This has been an amazing journey. Thank you all for the love and support. I really appreciate it. Hope you all liked this fanfic of mines. And again, thank you all sooo much for the love and support. 💖💖💖💖💖
