Kayla POV
So... like these Greek Gods are real and they have super hot children or whatever, but we have to respect and honor them? I'm the respected one at Goode High! The only problem was the there was no symbol on my head. I want to be the daughter of Athena, the goddess of beautiful people or something? I shook my head. I was walking to auditorium, and I saw no marks above people's heads. Why the auditorium? Well, the Gods were coming and were going to claim their respective children. Athena- I meant Aphrodite would claim me, and all the boys would love me. Even the super hot ones, like Percy Jackson. Percy has sea-green eyes that are like a calm ocean. His lips look so soft, and I really want to kiss them. His windswept raven black hair looks like he just took a walk on the beach. He, of course, said he had a girlfriend. But what kind of sane person would turn down the child of Aphrodite?
"Kayla? Kayla?! KAYLA!" my follower Megan screamed. I jumped, awoken from my daydream. Meg was sitting with confidence in her eyes, and she scanned my face, as if looking for something.
"Kayla, the gods are about to arrive! We NEED to convince Aphrodite to claim you as her daughter, so you can swoop in and steal Percy!
"I know! I like put on no makeup. Natural beauty! He'll fall in love at the sight of me."
"I JUST GOT THE GREATEST IDEA EVER!" Meg squeaked. I looked at her and asked what it was.
"You see, he may not love you if you were a child of one god, but if you were a child of two..." she said. I saw where she was going.
"I'd basically be a GODDESS!" I exclaimed. Some people gave me odd looks and turned their attention to the snap of thunder and the appearance of gods and goddesses on the theatre.
"Mortals. Today we will announce some things. First, you'll take sword-fighting classes, your mentor being the best sword-fighter and most skilled demigod in this room. Second, we will now claim the demigods in here..." a god with a lightning bolt said. I prayed to Aphrodite and some Hephaestus, who I think is the king of the gods, for a symbol of them to be on my head. I looked up after praying, but didn't see anything. Then I heard whispers. There was a glowing trident in the air, hovering above someone. I couldn't make out who it was though.
"Only one demigod. Schist. Anyways, Saviour of Olympus, come up here."
Saviour of Olympus? Who is this? Maybe I'll make him my boyfriend instead of Percy. The boy rushed up, the trident following him, and stood in the spotlight. I recognized him. Percy Jackson. PERCY JACKSON WAS A DEMIGOD!
"Percy, say your full title please." A bearded man with a trident asked. He must've been Percy's father.
"Really? Do I HAVE to?" The trident dude nodded, staring sternly at Percy.
"Fine. My name is Percy Achilles Jackson, son of Poseidon, Hero of Olympus, Survivor of Tartarus, blah blah blah..." Percy rambled on and on, and I kept thinking about how cute he was.
"We'll be here tomorrow, so that we can show Percy's... friends." Poseidon croaked, glancing at the intimidating one with grey eyes. They left, and that's when I decided. Tomorrow, I would get Percy. Then I would be claimed and fought over.
TIME SKIP
So like overnight I prayed to all of the gods and sorta hoped one of them would claim me. But just in case I crafted a pink dove attached to a stick that I could raise so that it looked like I was the daughter of Aphrodite. I sat through Math with the stick in my pocket, and English I started to toy with it. After English was sword-fighting. Our teacher had the familiar scent of salt water and raven black hair that was swept to one side. His sea green eyes tore through the crowd, but he didn't seem to see who he was looking for. I was about to flirt with him but them he started class.
"Hey! I'm Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon, so I can fight with swords pretty well, since I've been in two wars." He said. The class froze, staring at Percy. Then he laughed.
"Come on! I need volunteers to fight. and-" Percy was cut off by a boy, who I think was Markas, yelling at him.
"You're no child of Poseidon! I'm the child of Poseidon! I can do that water thing and spray your face and-" now he was cut off by a deep rumbling sound that shook the gym. I looked at Percy and saw that his hand was to the ground, and the Earth was clattering around Markas. Water sprayed from the holes in the floor. Then it died down.
"And what? If you really are the son of Poseidon, then dad would've claimed you. Right dad?!" He yelled. The Earth quaked, as if it agreed. I turned to Markas, who was shivering and soaked. When me and Percy were a couple, I'd like to a see him do that to all of the girls who flirt with him.
"Anyways, any volunteers?" Percy questioned. I timidly raised my polished hand for him too see, but then the doors burst open. A blonde girl with princess curls and stormy grey eyes that seemed to track your every move stepped in. She smiled at Percy, who smiled back.
"Sorry I'm late. What'd I miss?" The blonde girl asked. Ugh. Probably just some dumb blonde. (A/N I do not think Annabeth or anyone is dumb if they are blonde. I have friends who are blonde and they're smart.)
"Wise Girl! You missed nothing. Wanna duel?" Percy responded. Wise Girl? Did they already know each other? I hoped this girl wasn't his girlfriend.
"Hey! What's your name?" I asked. The girl turned to me and glared. I cowered back in fear.
"Annabeth Chase. I see that you want to duel. So let's duel." I faced Annabeth. She must've been a cousin, because she and Percy look really close.
"No thanks." I said sheepishly. She smirked and dueled Percy.
"Meg. Do they look like a couple?"
"Yeah. You probably shouldn't bother them."
"If I get Percy, it'll be worth it."
The duel lasted 15 minutes. Then the bell rang and Annabeth hopped off of Percy.
"Try harder next time Seaweed Brain." She said after helping Percy up. He laughed and they kissed, breaking the hearts of every boy and girl in the room. Except me. I would break them up.
