How can this be? My whole world was shaken and was about to crash.
"My name is Edward, King Langstine's assistant. I and a few others have been looking for the missing princess. It has been over thirteen years."
I sat down on the pavement, letting his words soak in. I could not breathe. Missing. Thirteen years.
"I am not certain you are the missing princess until you go through a DNA test. However, I am fairly sure you are indeed Princess Sophia." He grinned, trying to reassure me.
I rapidly nodded. I could not freaking believe I'm a princess!
A group of people passed by us, and a man from the group was staring down at me.
"What's your current name?"
"Jocelyn." I gasped for words.
"Well, Madam Jocelyn, I believe we need to move this to a more appropriate place," he whispered, looking up at the man who was analyzing me.
I nodded once again, and slowly stood up off the cold, hard cement. Tossing my worn out backpack over my shoulder, I matched Edward's pace.
"Now, there are a few things that need to be arranged. I'm pretty sure you have many questions. First, where are you staying?"
Well, I guess this is the moment of truth.
"Nowhere."
"You mean, you have been living on the streets? For how long?"
"About a month and a half now."
He was surprised. "Where are your par--. " His sentence broke off.
"My parents, you mean?" He nodded. "My father died when I was 8 from a car accident. My mom is an alcoholic who allows her ass of a boyfriend to abuse me. You know the night I left, she never went looking for me," I scoffed. "Hell, she probably doesn't even notice I'm missing."
Edward cringed. "I'm so sorry, madam Jocelyn. "
"No, don't feel sorry for me. I chose to get away from that hell pit. Good thing I did, I would of ended up dead in some ditch. Don't pity me. What I've been through has only made me stronger."
"Very well. You need a place to stay. A princess should never need to live on the streets."
"Very well," I said curtsying.
As he was on the phone, I remembered when I was 6 years old, I was playing dress up. I made a tiara out of the side of a beer carton. I colored it and placed it on my head. I remember that moment I felt the prettiest and most special. It was at that moment, I knew I could be someone great. Then my mom walked in drunk out of her mind, snatched the tiara off of my head and slurred, "Ha. You're a joke. You can never be a princess." Then, she stumbled off to get another beer. I picked up the pieces of my tiara and taped them together. I knew down deep in my heart I was someone special.
"We're here."
I looked up. "Holy shi--."
"No cursing, please."
We were standing before the Plaza hotel. Never in my dreams would I ever think I would have a chance to stay in a five star hotel.
"Foster please."
"Royal Terrace Suite?"
"Yes. Correct." I stood aside marveling at the Lobby area, while Edward got our room.
"Follow me." Edward followed the guy, while I lagged behind, astonished at every luxurious detail.
"Here you are." Edward opened the door, and I stood in awe. I was definetly in heaven.
I ran and sat down on the plush couch. The throw pillows were so billowy.
"Thank you sir," Edward thanked the guy in the weird outfit.
"Enjoy your stay," he countered.
"We will," I spoke up.
"I think it best you wash up, don't you?" Edward smiled.
"Are you telling me I stink?"
"No,just that you must be anxious to do so."
I patted Edward on the shoulder. "Just admit it, you're telling me I stink. But I'll do both of us the pleasure and washing of my filth." I mocked his accent, curtsied, and left the room. I heard him chuckle on the way out.
"By the way, your room in upstairs." He shouted.
Upstairs?

A/N: Hey everyone! I'm super duper sorry about not uploading any chapters in I think 3 months? I just got caught up with life (you know how that is). However, I am back! Yay! *applause*
Okay, so here's the deal, one goal of mine, this year, is to be organized and stick to a schedule (If you were to know me, you would find I'm the complete opposite of this ^). So...drum roll please...I will upload a new chapter every Friday! *Applause once more* Yes, I will try my best. I might miss a few days, but I am determined to stick to it. The chapters may be a little short, but you'll get one every Friday.
Thank you for sticking with me, and forgiving me in my absence. You truly are wonderful people!
Enjoy =)
