Leaning my head down on the cushion of grass, I looked above me at the sky. It's one thing that will never leave, but will always change. Stars hold these qualities too, but are more complex then that. They are always shining and never dim. Have you ever seen someone smile forever? Taking a deep breath, I sit up and look around the field. This is somewhere I never manage to see anyone.

It's quiet but peaceful that way. People complain of loneliness, but I think it's just as important as attention. When you are alone, you do something important, you think. When you think, your imagination is extraordinary. You think of what you wish, who you wish you had, what you wish you were, what you wish to do. It's called being alone but the conversation you have with you conscious are not fake.

But I'm not going to be alone here forever. You see, after Ethan dropped me off, we arranged to meet here, due to my mothers often behavior to Ethan's gender. And Ethan in general. He is the only other one who knows of this disclosed place, because this place means more to me then my own home does, believe it or not, I feel safer here.

Soft thuds echo to my ears as I close my eyes and feel a warm presence lay on the grass next to me.

My lips twitch upward at the corners as Ethan whispers, "you asleep?"

Instead of answering him, I turn on my side to face him. "Yes." I smirk.

He smiles and a dimple pokes out. And me being me reaches over and pokes it before screaming, "you're it!"
I jump to my feet and run to the meadow of flowers nearby. I can hear him behind me, but I focus on not tripping on my dress.
"What are we playing, Evie?"

I peek from behind a tree, "there are no rules. You have to catch me!" And I leap away running as fast as manageable.
I squeal and pick up my pace when I feel his hands brush my waist, assuring me he was catching up. Weaving in and out of the trees, I finally stop when I don't hear Ethan anymore. I take deep breaths looking around.

"Hello, love." A whisper blows against my neck and I shiver. I turn to run but am grabbed around the waist and pulled back to him.

"Not this time, sweetheart." I can hear a smile in his voice.

"Ethan, what are you doing?" My voice comes out nearly a whisper and shaky. Not what I was aiming for. A blush creeps up my neck, spreading.

He turns me around and pushes my back flush against the tree, his arms blocking my sides.

"Love, you're blushing again." He softly laughs.
I playfully push him away and start to run back to the field, turning over my shoulder and throwing him a smile before going back to the lilies, with him trailing me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Stepping through my door, I sense a different atmosphere around. My mother is happy? I frown and look at her cheery face looking down at a small piece of paper. I see the feathery writing and begin to worry.
"Mother, what is this?" I slowly approach her.
She rushed over,"we've been invited to the gathering Evangeline. Me, you and your sister. Masquerade!!" She squealed.
I forced a smile as she went over the lists of things that needed to be done to make us appear as the higher class people. Even though we weren't. She gave me lists of things to do.
Go to a farm and pick up sheep wool, or any fabrics materials they have.
Go to the fields and get wheat
Go to the shops and get feathers and ribbon............
And much more.
The good thing about this however is that Ethan so happens to live on a farm, I will be more then likely to see him.
"Well stop dreaming! Get! I have so much to prepare for!" She screams as she grabs a broom.
Walking over to Ethan's farm, I had expected him to open the door, but a young girl, maybe 5 answered instead. "Is Ethan here?" I ask softly.
She simply points behind me and backs I to the house. I turn around and a smile is brought to my face as I saw Ethan on the other side of the barn.
"Ethan!" He mustn't have heard.
"Ethan!" I repeat. He looked around until and his grey orbs met mine. I began to walk over to him, not even wondering if the little girl was following me.
"Ethan, I have a whole list of things from my mother to you." I frowned. "Apparently we were invited to some ball of some sort. I must go she she says."
"Well then I will see you there." he smiles. So, he must have been invited as well.
"Maybe not, that's if you can find me." And I mimic putting a mask on with my hands. He smiles and shakes him head before handing me my items.
"Till tomorrow."
"Till tomorrow." I reply.
