Avatar Book 1: Rise of Darkness

The Discovery

It was just another peaceful day in Berk, where it's twelve days north of Hopeless and a few degrees south of Freezing to Death. It's located solidly on the Meridian of Misery, or how the local have defined it to be, a young petite girl, with mid-back length blonde hair braided down with fringes, that initially covers the left side of her face, wearing a sleeveless shirt that has a green line on the middle, a green bow wrapped around her hips, green pants that match the bow, row her boat offshore, she pulls out her fishing rod and swings it out to air and drops it in the ocean, she sighs as she patiently waits for a fish to bite, it took minutes before the rod finally caught a fish, she then took the rod and pulls it as hard as she can, both her and the fish fight desperately to win their tug of war, pulling back and forth the fish strength overtook the girl's strength making her slip the rod and the fish has gotten away, that was her 5th rod lost in anger she stomps on the boat while her hands are in the air, as she was doing so, the water around her started to sway the boat, she notices this and stopped for a second, the water then calms down, she looks around her to see if someone was watching her, but didn't see any one she then touch the water, and pull her right hand up slowly, as she was doing so the water follows her hand.

Startled she pushes herself backward and the water in the front of the boat made a big splash, she breathes heavily while looking at her hands trying to understand what was going on, while she has surprised a weirdly looking helmet emerges from the side of the boat and peaks inside the boat recognizing her, "Astrid?" He thought.

The suited person climbs aboard the boat and offers his hand to her, the girl notices the shadow hovering over he and she looks up and sees a suit that looks like a dragon, thinking it was some kind of weird creature of the sea, she swings her right hand and water swings to the air and hits the head of the suit, due to the strong force of the water the suit's helmet came clean off and reveals the face a young man with wet auburn hair, the girl recognizes him as the chief's son but does not know his name.

She looks at him angrily and pushes him down, she draws her hidden knife and puts it on his neck, "Who are you?" she asks.

"I'm Hiccup...Haddock." He answers.

"What are you doing out here, shouldn't you be in Gobber's shop sharpening something?"

"I just thought of testing out my new invention, an underwater suit."

She then removes the knife off his neck and sheathed it behind her bow, and stands up kicking Hiccup on the chest and walks away, Hiccup stands while holding his chest, "How long have you known?" Hiccup asks.

"Known what?"

"That you're the Avatar."

"I didn't."

"Well, that's just something huh." Hiccup leans on the edge of the boat looking at the shore. "Not just a great Earthbender but a water bender too, can you fire bend, air bend?

Astrid looks at him angrily, Hiccup senses this and just became silent, "I didn't ask for this." She silently mutters and looks down, Hiccup looks at her and sees that she's not feeling well, the sky then turns dark and rain started pouring over them, "We should head back." Hiccup proposes. Astrid just nods and started to row the boat back to shore, Both went back to their Village without speaking another word to each other.

Awaiting them is Gobber, a Muscular Bold man with a blonde braided mustache, that has a prosthetic left arm and right leg, he was wearing a horned helmet to cover his bald head, he looks at Hiccup with expectancy, "Have you any clue how long I have been waiting for you, Wherein Odin's beard have you been?" He asks.

"Just testing out my new suit, see if it could catch some fish below the sea." Hiccup answers.

"I like the ingenuity but you're not supposed to leave the workshop without my permission, if your father hears about this he'd.."
