Chapter 4: Searching in Republic City

The sun has risen from the east a ray of sunshine pierces through a small hole from the plank of the ship shining on Astrid's face, she opens her eyes and sees herself in a grassy field no boat or water to be seen, it was just a field and the blue sky gazing upon her, she walks about looking for someone or something but all she sees is a woman, short Dark brown hair wearing a blue sleeveless shirt and baggy pant in a meditating state, sitting on the grassy plain with her legs crossed, her hands over her legs.

Astrid approached her and asks about where she was.

"We are in the Spirit world." The woman answers.

"Why am I here?"

"Because I called you here."

"But why?"

The woman just smiles and opens her eyes, "As the Avatar you are the balance between the Spirit World and the Human world and bring peace across the land, the reason I called you here is to warn you, not everyone is a fan and many will try to kill you."

"Yeah, no kidding." Astrid rolled her eyes.

The woman chuckles, "That is why I must ask you to hide who you truly are."

Astrid shook her head, "I don't even know who I am anymore, a few days ago I was just a normal earth-bender, now I'm the Avatar."

The woman stands and pats Astrid's head, "Change is part of who we are, being unable to predict what may happen is a good thing, because the unpredictability of life is what makes it interesting."

Astrid nods and looks up, "By the way, who are you?"

The woman smiles, "My name is Korra, I was your past life."

Astrid suddenly felt that she was being pulled back, Korra holds her hand and reassures her. "Everything will be alright, trust in the people who cares about you."

A flashing light emerges and Astrid finds herself on the hanging bed on the bottom of the deck, she stretches her arm and stands up, she opens the hatch and sees Jack leaning on the mast swinging his staff playfully, Hiccup nowhere to be seen, Merida is with Pi lee, helping with the steering of the ship, and James is sitting on the bowsprit looking forward the ship.

Astrid approaches James and asks, "What do you see?"

"The wind flowing." James answers.

"Where does it flow?"

"Forward."

"How do you see it flowing?"

James turns around and faces Astrid, "The air is visible to the ones who do not seek it."

Confuse about what James said, she shrugs and changes the topic, "Why are you going to Republic city?"

"A chance to meet someone, and you, what do you seek in such a place?"

"Looking for someone."

"So our reason align perhaps fate has guided us to meet one another to find to who we are looking for."

"If that were the case, then that would make my search a lot easier."

"Indeed, so shall mine."

A dark shadow hovers over Astrid, she looks above and sees an Airship hovering over them, Astrid looks at it with amazement being this was the first time she sees this vehicle, following its direction a giant statue of a man with a staff, facing the land with tall buildings and the harbor that is filled with many ships made out of metal, from that distance she sees a speed boat that just passes the ship, she looks at it like a child seeing the world for the very first time, she calls Hiccup asking if he could see this, but the moment she turned around to face him he wasn't there.
