After tiring of exploring every inch of the ocean, Kaleia wondered what a fire volcano was. She had overheard about them when Zeus and Hermes were quietly speaking among themselves. Curious, Kaleia decided to see a real one for herself. But there was one tiny problem—it was dangerous for a member of the water gods to visit the fire gods' territory, because fire and water didn't get along very well...

Kaleia, who was examining a shiny shell on the ocean floor while considering her risky excursion to the fire territory, now flipped her fishtail against the water and swam upwards toward the beach, where the water became brighter and brighter until her hand could skim the sandy floor while her head bobbed over the waves. Her curiosity had won over rational thinking. She crawled out of the water onto the wet beach and instantly, her tail transformed into human legs and her whole body became dry. No one in the fire territory would ever know she was Poseidon's mermaid daughter just in case a fire citizen saw her. Hopefully.

Kaleia lunged herself into the air and flew cautiously to where the fire territory was. It wasn't very hard to find—you can't miss a glowing, fiery city with lava as rivers and lakes. Carefully, she hovered behind a red-brown, protruding rock, and peered at the massive red civilization. Kaleia could see its god citizens—mingling about, carrying baskets of things, riding on fire-breathing beasts.
