chapter 5

Annas POV

I wake up, feeling the cold air conditioning blowing on my face. I stretch picking up my surfboard and changing into my swimsuit and heading downstairs.

"I'm going surfing." I yell to my parents. I open the screen for that leads right to the beach. I drag my surfboard across the white Florida sand and then dive into the cool ocean. Surfing is an escape from reality for me, a place where I can forget the past. I take a breath and paddle to catch the waves that are tinged with sunrise pinks and oranges.

●after surfing●

I was laying down resting when I heard some guys yelling. I open my eyes and see dylan and all the guys. As they walk by I hear dylan say.

"There'd my disobedient pathetic ex-girlfriend." All the guys laughed except thomas, who looked back at me, apologetically

What dylan said reminded me of the night dylan gave me the scar.

•flashback•

"I told you not to talk to him again!" Dylan said as he shoved me to the ground.

"Dylan, he's just a friend. I can't not talk to him." I said, as the tears poured from my eyes.

"Don't give me those lame excuses. I told not to do something and you disobeyed me. You are going to regret that." He said, with an evil grin on his face.

He grabbed me by my hair, pulling me of the ground. He hit my head against the wall and I felt blood run down my face.

"Dylan, please stop." I begged

He let go of me, just to smash a bottle on my left shoulder. I felt it slice a long deep line on my back.

"Your so pathetic!" Dylan said, kicking my stomach.

I felt my eyelids my eyelids flicker until all I saw was black.

•end of flashback•

I uneasily touched my scar. Even though I had only met megan a few days ago. I knew I could trust her with my secret. I slowly stand up and pick up my surfboard.

"Anna, hey." I heard megans voice cutting Through my thoughts. I turned towards her.

"Hey, what's up?" I asked, smiling and not showing what I actually felt.

"Not much. I mean, besides the fact that Thomas is going to show me around the boardwalk today!" she squealed excitedly.

I rolled my eyes. I didn't want to keep nagging her about the group but I wanted her to be safe.

"So, were you just surfing?"she asked

"Yeah, it's something I've done since I was a kid. Perks of living right on the beach." I answered,looking at my board.

"That's so awesome!"Megan said

"Yeah, but this one time, these people had a party on the beach and some people got so drunk, they actually walked into our house because we left the doors open and in the morning we found them in our sunroom asleep!"

Megan and I laughed together and started heading back to the boardwalk. As we turned to go to one of the nearby stores, we heard a shout.

"Hey Megan!"

We both turned and I saw Thomas running towards us, looking like he just went swimming. Megan started smiling like crazy and went up to him.

"Ready to go? There's a lot of places I want to show you around here." Thomas said to her, smiling at her also.

It was funny. When I was with Dylan, I never once saw Thomas smiling but now here he was.

"Alright, I got to go work. Have fun you two!" I said to them.

Thomas looked at me. "About today Anna....." he trailed off.

"It's okay. Just make sure that you don't run into the guys today." I looked at Thomas and he nodded.

"Bye Anna!" Megan called to me as I started to walk away.

I turned and waved back, smiling. I watched them both walk towards the nearest ice cream shop,both talking and laughing their heads off. I sighed and turned the other way. If only things had worked out like that for Dylan and I.

Hey guys its anna!!! This was in Annas POV which was new thing we decided to do, so we'll be doing other POVS soon!!! This was a co-written chapter so give mdog (aka meaghan) some love for the flashback because that was awesone!! Hope you like the storyso far!!!

It's meaghan I just wanted to say I wrote the flashback part and anna wrote basically the rest. So we will be doing every fifth chapter together.
