"I have to learn how to surf now that we're in Florida." Alex said as we walked down the boardwalk to the café.

I laughed.

"Are you going to turn into one of those total surfer dudes? Like,'hey bro let's go hang ten and be gnarly.'" I said

"No, I just heard that surfers pick up a lot of babes."

"Alex!" I screeched,  laughing as I ruffled his dirty blonde hair.

He dodged out from under my hand and attempted to fix his already messy hair.

"You're such a girl" I teased

We approached the door of the café. Sunset Café  the sign read. We opened the door and were immediately greeted with the smell of cinnamon buns and smoothies.

"It's official. I'm living here." I sighed happily.

I went up to the counter.

"Hey, welcome to Sunset Café." said the pretty blonde girl at the counter.

I smiled at her. "Hi, could I get a cinnamon bun and the Pink Coral smoothie?"(which had strawberries,cherries,raspberries and yogurt) "And a root beer and sandwich for my brother."

I pay for the order and go to sit down with Alex.

"She's hot." said Alex looking at the girl at the counter.

"Seriously Alex, she's like way too old for-"

"Number 16!"

I went up to the counter and got the food. Just I was turning around, someone bumped into me, knocking the tray out of my hand.

I looked up about to yell when I saw  angry faces glaring down at me. I pushed myself off the ground. Standing in front of me were 5 guys who looked around 18 and all just staring at me.

"Umm.. I'm so sorry..." I stuttered out.

Wait, why am I apologizing to them? All of a sudden, the blond guy I had seen earlier stepped out and bent down to pick up the fallen food.

"Thomas, let's go." said the  dark haired one who seemed to be the leader.

The group turned to leave.

"Dylan! Can you, like, apologize or something?" I hear the girl say behind me.

The dark haired boy, Dylan, looks at her with disgust, then walks out of the café with his group.

Thomas gives me one last fleeting glance before silently walking out, the tiny bell above the door chiming softly.

"Oh my god, are you okay?" the girl asked out, coming out from behind the counter.

I nodded, starting to gather the food up off the ground.

"I got it, don't worry. I'm Anna by the way. It's nice to meet you." Anna says, helping me pick up the spill.

"I'm Megan. I just moved here."I smiled at her.

"Look, Megan I want you  to know that those guys are really dangerous and you should steer clear of them."

I nodded, but all I could think of was the blond quiet boy who didn't quite seem like the rest.
