Hi here's the next chapter!
Sorry but this one is applied mostly to fan fiction
OOC stands for Out of character
A character can be written out of character if, in the show or movie they're from, they're typically gruff and you write them as a softer version of themselves! Or, if they're shy and you write them doing something confidently.
Example:
Your character often starts fights. They're rough around the edges. They don't warm up to people. If you write them meeting your character and they Immediately warm up to them, it seems unrealistic.
What keeps them in character-
Make a list of character traits!
Example:
Traits about Bucky Barnes (probably before falcon and winter soldier) - wary, suspicious, quiet, watchful, and a bit rough, but polite.
If he were to meet a character, he wouldn't warm up to them right away. Especially if he knew little about them. He wouldn't be rude, but he wouldn't grow attached right away. He'd scope them out and try to figure out as much as he can about them without them knowing.
Why this is important-
This is Important because an OOC character can make it seem less realistic and turn away a reader!
If you know any other tips feel free to drop them in the comments!
