When Kara landed silently outside of Aunt Ally's house she was surprised to see Ally staring at Kara's chair in the dining room without shifting once. Kara paused and watched her Aunt sit stone still silently staring and knew she would be useful if Aunt ever decided to take up spying. However when Kara slipped inside and on the chair she noticed that Ally would never hold under interrogation for her face clearly showed every emotion without thought or filter. It was quite overwhelming to Kara who was used to reading small tells or quirks to read others. It was as if she had been spoken to in whispers all her life and then suddenly, without warning being yelled at. Inhaling a small short breath Kara waited for the yelling that would surely begin momentarily and waited and waited. It was a full three minutes before Aunt Ally broke the silence and started yelling.

Ally's POV
Ally had just finished venting at her niece about leaving without warning and terrifying her like that ever again. During the entire time Kara had been chewed out she hadn't said or word or barely even moved at all. As if this was common place, as if being shouted at was an every day event.
"I apologize 'unt 'lly, I didn't mean to worry you and next time I'm  leaving I'll be sure to tell you," Kara promised. Ally nodded relieved as soon as she had understood Kara's heavy Devans accent that had come from living there all her life. Ally paused as a thought came to her, speaking of all her life...,
" Your father never told me about you. I doubt I would know you even existed if you hadn't told me. So exactly how old are you," Ally questioned. After all you had to be a certain age to get your own lodging or certain jobs, and if Kara wasn't old enough to be in the army then Ally would have to get a second maybe third job.
" Twenty-eight, I'll be turning twenty-nine this year in a couple of months," Kara's answer was wary obviously not used to sharing,
"When is your birthdate? How would you like to celebrate," Ally wondered if she had even celebrated her birthdate before. Knowing her brother it was possible Kara hadn't, or even known it before Kara asked for it somewhere. Kara's reaction to her question proved her theory right, jolting slightly Kara replied, sounding slightly strained like she had stretched to far,
" I really don't need celebr'tion for birthdate everyone has one. It's nothing new really. Don't go to all the trouble for nothing,"
Ally frowned at Kara, and decided she would search the records if that what it took. She wouldn't celebrate if Kara didn't want that, but she could still make some of Kara's favourite foods, (once Ally figured out what they were) or give a small present like a new coat or boots. Smiling Ally nodded at her thoughts and dug back into the delicious spread of food.
