Dream watched in horror as the portal evaporated.
"George?"dream said softly, the tears building as he realized what happened. George was gone and he had barely gotten to know him.
Two months earlier
Dream watched the clock tick by slowly, his leg bouncing slightly waiting for his shift to be over. He hated his job, he really did.
But he needed to make money somehow, he'd rather be at home playing video games but that didn't make money. Well it could technically but it wasn't something his parents approved of.
He quickly rushed out of the office when the clock struck 5 o clock. It was so refreshing to finally be outside in the sun. Dream hadn't decided to drive today, thinking it would be nice enough to walk home. He whistled to himself softly as he heard screaming coming from above him. He looked up to find a man crashing down on top of him.
"What the-", dream stumbled to his feet kicking the man off of him, the man was smaller than him and had a pair of broken goggles most likely from the fall. The man just groaned slightly, it was possibly a miracle none of them had severe injuries yet Dream just couldn't get over a man falling from the sky.
"What happened?", the man finally said something, rubbing the back of his head.
"Well you sort of just fell from the sky-"
"The sky?!", the man looked up at him with a twinkle of excitement in his eyes, "did you see anything above me? When I was falling?"
"N-no", Dream stuttered, "why were you falling in the first place?"He was about to say something yet he went pale for a second.
"Wait....what year is it?"He quickly noticed the lack of advanced technology around him.
"Ummm 2021", maybe the guy hit his head harder than Dream thought. The man gulped for a second before looking at a watch on his wrist, clearly busted.
"Shit-", The man was clearly panicking for a second, he quickly got to his feet, fumbling slightly, "sorry to bother you", he said, still tripping slightly.
"Hey relax", Dream tried to comfort the man, "anything I can help with?", today was a strange day.
"I'm not sure....", the man pondered, "I don't know if you'll have anything to fix this", he held up his broken watch.
"Hmmm...maybe we can get you a new one?"Dream teased slightly. The man scoffed.
"This isn't a watch you can just buy", He places a hand on the man's shoulder.
"Well maybe I can help...umm do you need any parts?"
"A lot of them"
"Well I guess it's time to go shopping", dream sighed, "luckily I have some money saved up, come on", the man looked at Dream confused for a second, "you coming?"
"Y-yes", the man quickly rushed to Dream's side.
"Do you have a name?"dream asked, wanting to make some small talk on the way to the store.
"Yes it's umm George", George said softly, Dream smiled.
