Death
A one-word with only one syllable
is the permanent, irreversible cessation of all biological functions that sustain a living organism.
(Arianna's pov)
Diego is dead. My so-called father is no more.
There was a thick silence coating the room. I didn't have a single clue on how to respond. The news should have made me contented. Now there was no one to beat me up for trivial things. No one whom I would be scared of.
Instead of the feeling of contentment, it made me downhearted.
Monsters were not born. They were created. They were people who were changed by this world. When he used to be heavily intoxicated by the drink, the story of his mom being raped and brutally murdered by his father had unrevealed. The father then abused him. Diego was no saint but I blamed his father more for changing a boy into an abusive man.
"You would be taken to his office where further matters will be sorted out." said the principal in the most polite tone.

"Any relatives of your father you know of?" uttered the officer for the hundredth time.
If I knew about them, wouldn't I tell you, you dumb fuck.
"No", I said while gritting my teeth.
He finally took my full information after asking that stupid question.
I was just so done, my full body was aching from the beating.
After 25 minutes of sitting in an uncomfortable position with my throbbing head pain, that dumb officer finally came.
"Through your fingerprint scan, we have actually found that you have an eldest brother who can be your guardian, were you not aware of it?"
This dumber is testing my patience and I will shoot him now with his own gun.
"Ummm are you sure about that? I mean Dieg- dad- I mean I was an only child."
"Diego wasn't your real father. Well, the news can be shocking but you were kidnapped when you were two years old."
WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. HELL.

Did I expect my normal day to go from an unprepared maths test to be in a first-class seat where probably the water has more worth than me?
After blasting that news on me, my saviour police officer told me that my eldest brother was ready to take me in and had even prepared a flight. Life just couldn't get more amazing.
After the plane landed, my experience made me convince myself to never go again. My sleep was constantly disturbed by the baby crying every now and then, it took a hell of a lot of patience to just take the baby and throw it out of the emergency door.
Well, now that?
Do I know any of my siblings' names? No. Do I have a picture of them? No. Then how the hell am I gonna find them?
Before my last question was answered, a huge board with 'Arianna I love you' was in front of the arrivals board. They didn't even know me yet.
As soon as I approached, a pair of arms engulfed me into a hug and a feminine voice muttered,
"We have missed you, Arry."
