Their eyes met and Rhys couldn't stop staring. Jack walked through the threshold and into the room, walking right up to the hybrid. He extended a hand, looking a bit pissed off. Rhys took a deep breath and straightened his back before putting his hand in Jack's for a handshake. He did his best to give a good handshake, strong and firm but not crushing. But looking at that hand he wasn't sure he could. The human woman walked up behind Jack and the two let each other's hand go.

"So, this match has been found for you two by not only our system but our matchmakers and we are excited to see the results. You two will be left in the room to discuss your folders and any other things that need to be cleared up. You have one hour before the room will no longer be available to you. Take a seat and get to know each other." She placed Jack's folder on the table and started a timer behind them. She then excused herself from the room.

Rhys pulled out a chair for Jack and then sat himself in the other chair. Jack leaned into the chair and stared at Rhys, inspecting him.

"So, you're Rhys I take it?" Jack asked.

"That I am. And uhh... you're Handsome Jack." Rhys spoke cautiously.

"I am. I see my reputation still proceeds me. How much did you pay to get in this room with me?" He inquired, his eyes narrowed at the younger. Rhys looked confused.

"What do you mean? The first test is free, I didn't pay anything to be here," Rhys defended himself.

"So they genuinely thought that you, a twiggy, half robotic beanpole would be my soulmate?"

"Hey! I am not twiggy. I just took my test and now I'm in a room with you. At least I wasn't in the lobby throwing people and causing a huge mess," Rhys quipped back.

"Oh so you do have a spine. Good. I was starting to worry they stuck me with another jellyfish," Jack let out a sigh of relief.

"Wh-What?"

"I've done this testing so many times now and every new person they put me with has basically shat themselves when I question anything about them. It's starting to get ridiculous. I'm not getting any younger and I am honestly getting sick of all of this. But I figured that I would go through it one last time, per a friend of mine's request," Jack explained.

"Didn't you already have a soulmate back in the day?" Rhys asked. Jack slammed a hand on the table.

"Rule one. We don't talk about them."

"Dang... noted. Then shall we look at our charts and stuff?" Rhys slid his folder across to Jack and the CEO pushed his over a little more gingerly.

The hybrid didn't have much to read, the answers were very quick and to the point but what didn't people know about Jack? He was all over magazines and EchoTV. He was never not in the spotlight. That's how Rhys knew about the past partner that Jack had, a lamb hybrid. No one ever knew what happened to them. Rhys looked up and the Dominant's eyes were scanning the paper of everything Rhys took his time filling out.
