Dru's POV
What the heck was going on?
I looked up to see Mrs. Biggs carefully inspecting every student. She glanced at me, and I quickly forced myself into the same position as everyone else. I noticed that every student slightly moved their left middle finger twice. I did the same.
Mrs. Biggs looked satisfied and clicked something on her tablet. Everyone went back to normal, continuing the test and showing no sign of remembering the past 2 minutes.
The second Mrs. Biggs told us that the test was over, I got up and went to Kal. "Everybody froze," I whispered urgently. "Everybody but me."
"That's cause you're a nerd unlike everyone else." He replied. Oh no. He thought I meant about the test.
"No, you don't get it," I said. "I-"
Everyone suddenly froze again. I faked freezing too. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Mrs. Biggs opening her phone and calling someone.
"I'm with the class at Westbrook High. There seems to have been a glitch."
A glitch? So they were the ones making everyone freeze?
Someone spoke on the phone, but I couldn't hear what they said.
"Just turn it off and back on," She told them, and hung up. A moment later, everyone unfroze.
We left the classroom like nothing had happened.
I didn't understand what just had happened, but I was going to find out.
Kal's POV
I was relieved when Mrs. Biggs said to put down our pencils and that class was dismissed. Tests were not my forte. That's more of Dru's thing. He was being weird. Everyone but him froze? Crazy.
The rest of the day was uneventful. As we rode back home, Dru asked me, "Are you sure you're alright?"
"Never better," I replied. I felt perfectly fine. Except that my jaw hurt a bit, but that was normal.
I felt like riding faster. I stood on the pedals of my bike and sped forward.
"Wait! Slow down!" Dru called from far behind me. I wasn't going that fast.
I slowed down for him when we were a couple of streets from our house.
Suddenly there was a painful scream from somewhere in front of me.
So sorry for the short chapter! It's only flipping 355 words, and I usually do 1500-2000. I don't know what's wrong with me. The next one will be longer, and interesting.
Next update will be next Thursday or friday.
