Bravestorm yowled in pain as her last kit came a small black Tom. "what should we name them" bravestorm looked up at cheetahgrowl " the two toms phantomkit and plumkit" he purred. "the she-cats will be novakit and orchidkit" bravestorm purred tiredly. Talonstar padded In "what are the names of my grandchildren"he meowed "the blue/grey Tom is plumkit, the black Tom with bright ginger muzzle is phantomkit, the bright ginger she-cat is novakit and the blue/grey she-cat with the black ears, bright ginger tail tip and golden paws is orchidkit" cheetahgrowl meowed. "They look absolutely gorgeous" talonstar meowed softly licking his daughter's head. " Your mother would be proud of you as much as I am" talonstar whispered in bravestorm's ear. "Thank you father" bravestorm meowed and licked her fathers nose.
"Phantomkit get back here now" bravestorm grasped her sons scruff and pulled him back to the nest. "but mama I wanna go play with chickkit, shadekit and maplekit" phantomkit wailed waking his brother and sisters up. "mama why his he crying again" novakit growled looking angry that she had been woken up. bravestorm sighed " if I let you go out will you be careful" bravestorm meowed. " oh yes mama we will" plumkit meowed. "im not coming after I was rudely woken up by my noisy brother" novakit growled and stuffed her head into bravestorm's belly. " me either" orchidkit meowed and laid her head on novakit's neck. "whatever you say" phantomkit and plumkit ran out of the den. bravestorm licked her two daughters heads. novakit laid her head in bravestorm's belly looking at her. "mama" she meowed "yes novakit" bravestorm's massive broad head swung around looking down at novakit. "you won't leave us right" novakit meowed softly and tears ran down her face. "oh baby I won't be going anywhere why did you ask that" bravestorm meowed. "eagletalon told me about how your mother riverwhisker died kitting you" novakit whispered. " yes novakit my mother did die kitting me but I had brightfall to raise me and did you know brightfall is my aunt she and riverwhisker are sisters" bravestorm meowed and licked her kit's tears away. "my baby I'm not leaving you or your littermates I'm young and strong I'll be there for you and your littermates don't forget that and I love you kits with every each of my heart" bravestorm purred and licked novakit and orchidkit. "why don't we go see what your brothers are doing" bravestorm meowed. The sisters nodded and followed bravestorm out of the den. "someone get bravestorm" Amberbird yowled. bravestorm saw phantomkit dangling from a tree branch. Bravestorm shot forward and up the tree as a blurr of black fur and novakit watched as her mother swiftly shot up the tree branches towards phantomkit. "Be careful bravestorm" Amberbird meowed "shut up Amberbird I know what I'm doing" bravestorm snarled and grabbed phantomkit by the scruff and jumped from the branch and landed neatly with a soft thud. "phantomkit don't you ever do that again you could have been killed" bravestorm meowed sternly at phantomkit and took him back to the nursery with plumkit, novakit and orchidkit following behind.
"Novakit, orchidkit, phantomkit plumkit your apprentice names are novapaw, orchidpaw, phantompaw and plumpaw" talonstar meowed loudly. " Novapaw your mentor is runningnight, orchidpaw your mentor is lilacflower, phantompaw your mentor is blazedream, and plumpaw your mentor is lionwing" talonstar meowed " now chickkit, shadekit and maplekit your apprentice names are chickpaw shadepaw and maplepaw" talonstar meowed loudly. "Chickpaw your mentor is Amberbird, shadepaw your mentor is quailnose, and maplepaw your mentor is bravestorm" talonstar meowed. maplepaw ran up to bravestorm and touched her nose to bravestorm's. "lets go see if you can hunt" bravestorm meowed. " hey bravestorm can we join you" runningnight, blazedream, lilacflower and lionwing asked. " of course the more prey the better" bravestorm meowed and lead maplepaw out of camp. novapaw ran up to her mother. "hi mama" novapaw purred. "hi novapaw" bravestorm meowed. "now maplepaw go see if you can hunt" bravestorm meowed "you four go as well" bravestorm Meowed. a few moments later bravestorm heard a screech of fear she looked at the others and pelted into the trees a badger had the 5 apprentices trapped against a rock. Bravestorm hurled herself between the badger and the apprentices. a deep growl rose from the huge she-cat's throat. bravestorm raised a paw and swiped it at the badgers face. it roared in pain and swung a massive paw at bravestorm. a badger took the life of bravestorm's mentor blacktip when bravestorm was an apprentice. the badger knocked bravestorm away. bravestorm saw the long gash on her side. she groaned in pain and got to her paws. "no not my kits" bravestorm hurled herself at the badger. she hit the badger with such force it sent the badger staggering to the side. bravestorm saw nothing but darkness.
Novapaw watched as her mother's eyes began to glowing bright white. bravestorm rammed into the badger sending it scrambling to the side and it fell. bravestorm hurled herself onto the badger. the badger growled at bravestorm novapaw watched as her mother raised a paw claws out and slice the badgers throat wide open.
Bravestorm looked at the dead badger under her. runningnight looked at bravestorm his eyes wide with shock. "how did you kill that badger single pawed" he stuttered. "I don't know" bravestorm jumped off the badger and
grabbed her kits. "my dears are you okay" bravestorm asked. the four apprentices nod and press to their mothers chest.
" We all know tigerwhisper died during the night from green cough" talonstar meowed. " I have chosen the new deputy bravestorm will be the new deputy" talonstar looked at his huge daughter a long scar ran from her shoulder down to her hip from the badger she killed to save the apprentices. a scar ran over her eye from the battle with the rogues. novapaw and her littermates sat beside their mother and father. Bravestorm was the strongest most feared cat In the clan. phantompaw and his littermates were lucky to have such a beautiful cat as they're mother.
