Alex's POV:
"I still can't believe Dylan did that," I say.
"Really! I saw he was starting to crack, it was just a matter of time," Jackson exclaims.
"Hmm... I don't think it was for no reason though, I just don't know why," I express.
"Whatever dude, let's just go find him," Jackson orders, and for once i agree with him.
We move around to the side of the A block where the withdrawl room is and we find Dylan and Jimmy walking out from behind the Indonesian class rooms.
"Well, well, well, whats going on here," Jackson says schemishly.
"Nothing Asshole! Just clearing the air," Jimmy says jokingly but Jacksons face looks like he took it to heart. As Jimmy and Jackson walk away bickering at each other i finally get to talk to Dylan about what happened in math.
"Well come on dude, what was that about in maths," I question eagerly.
"He's a gay fag, just gotta show him who's boss." Dylan explains proudly.
The silence is loud, you can almost hear my heart breaking inside my chest. Dylan turns and looks at me and i can feel the tears forming in my eyes, so i turn away.
"Hey, what's up, was it something i said?" Dylan asks concerningly.
"Yes, yes it was something you said! I'm sick of hearing this homophobic shit come out of your mouth! It makes me want to throw up!" I scream at him.
"Alex I..." he stutters "Let's go somewhere private please."
"Fine" I say sturnly. We arrive behind the canteen. Nobody hangs out here, its a dead zone basically. I'm mentally preparing myself for the serious beat down that Dylans about to give me but instead he asks, "What did you mean by your sick of me saying homophobic shit, aren't you homophobic?"
"What! No! Aren't you homophobic?" I ask.
"No!" He exclaims.
We both look at each other for a moment and laugh. Its so hard to believe that we have both been putting on an act for no reason. I'm so thankful this jig is finally over but I can't help the butterflies in my stomach. They are screaming at me to tell him that I'm bi. The words are on the tip of my tongue but all i can muster up is, "Bi... y the way, did you want to go find the others?"
"Uhm... sure" Dylan agrees.
Okay, maybe now wasn't the right time but I'm sure the oppurtunity will present itself, right?Dylans POV:
Oh my god it is such a relief that Alex isn't homophobic. This will make the explanation of things ten times easier. Now isn't the right time but I'm sure it will be eventually. Right now i wanna play some basketball and I think Alex does too.
We make our way to the basketball court where Jimmy has decided to watch us. Jackson probably convinced him into it. They seem like they get along well, its dope to see a gay guy and a straight guy not give a shit. I give him a wave and so does Alex. He waves back with a smile and turns his head back to the game. Alex hops on one team and I hop on the other to make it even. Although I just arrived I can already feel myself getting into the groove of it. I easily score a 3 pointer and walk over to give my team high fives. Alex is running down the court with the ball and i see a perfect oppurtunity to snatch it off him. I go in for the ball but trip over my own feet and topple over Alex. We land on the floor with our faces centimeters from each other and we both start blushing. I get up quickly and help him up but I can't shake the feeling in my stomach afterwards. I look over at Alex who has turned as red as a tomato and can't help but laugh.
I jokingly punch him in the arm and say "How you feeling beetroot?"
He looks up at me angrily and yells "Watch were your going next time fuck face."
He walks off the court, but I don't think I did anything wrong. I know he won't want to talk to me right now so I need someone to go see if he is ok. All the boys are still playing basketball and the only over person is the guy I literally just beat up. Ah well, its worth it for Alex.
"Hey Jimmy, all the boys are still playing and Alex just walked off angrily, can you go see if he is ok for me please?" I ask almost begging.
He looks at me and smirks, "Ok lover boy, will do."
"Its not like that" I mumble "I mean well."
"I'm already gone!" Jimmy says as he walks away.
I hope i didn't do anything wrong.Alex's POV:
Why would I walk away? It was just palyful banter, it wasn't his fault. Great, now it looks awkward even though it isn't. Just as i nearly enter a panic attack i hear the bathroom door open.
"Alex???" Says the person whose voice i recognise from earlier.
"Oh, its just you, whats up?" I ask.
"Well, Dylan sent me after you, he was worried as to why you left the field so quickly." Jimmy explains.
"Well can i be honest or do you just want to get back?" I question.
"I have time," Jimmy replies.
"Ok well basically, I'm bisexual and whenever certain things happen between me and Dylan I can't shake this odd feeling in my stomach afterwards" I explain.
"So you have a crush on Dylan," Jimmy asks already knowing the answer.
"No! Its not like that at all, Dylan and I are just friends," I hurridly reply.
"Whatever you say dude, he likes you back though, so i recommend you come with me and talk to him" Jimmy states.
"W-what?" I stutter.
"Just come on" Jimmy says grabbing my arm.On the way back to the basketball court Jimmy is preparing me for what I'm gonna say to Dylan. I think now is the time that i tell him I'm bi and its all thanks to the confidence Jimmy gave me. I thank him as he sits down and i then run and grab Dylan and pull him aside.
"I have something to tell you!" I exclaim.
"Hey, where did you go befo- oh ok, what is it?" Dylan fumbles.
"I'm..." I pause.
"What is it Alex? You can tell me anything" Dylan reassures me.
"I'm bisexual" I state.
Dylans jaw drops and theirs a pit at the bottom of my stomach.
He smiles and says "Dude thats awesome, I think i might be gay, but I'm not sure, so keep it on the downlow."
Classic Dylan gotta make it all about himself. I smile and tell him I won't say a word when i feel his arms wrap around me. We have hugged before but this one feels different. I can see Jimmy sitting on the ground smiling with his thumbs in the air. I smile and move out of Dylans arm to see him staring into my eyes.
"Thank you Alex, Now let's play some ball"
He runs off into the crowd of people in the court. It's so funny, earlier I felt like Dylan and I were at our worst possible point. Now however, I feel as if we are closer than ever before.
