Cailyn pov:
I stood infront of the camp with my mom with my baggage "See honey! You'll have loads of fun." Mom always treated me like a child. I didn't mind too much. I loved her none the less and I half understood why she treated me like this.
My mom and my dad divorced when I was 8 and my little brother was about 6. Dad used me as his own personal therapist and when I tell you he told me everything, I mean everything. There wasn't a secret or a problem that he wouldn't spill to me. So yeah I grew up pretty fast. That's a pretty sad and long story and I've already mentioned all that's important from it, so let's get back to the present.
I looked around the camp. There was a few other people around my age at the camp. They all looked really dull. One boy stood out me. He didn't have any luggage like the rest of the teens here and he stood alone under a tree. He was tall with near-black shaggy hair. I could tell that his skin was tan, but I couldn't really make out any of his other features from the distance from what he stood. As I stared at him, he looked up and his eyes met mine.He was far away from me, but he knew I was staring at him. There was a tap on my shoulder and I was brought back to the real world.
A woman dressed in black and white formal clothes stared down at me with a wide smile. I was of average height standing at 166 cm/5'5 feat, but damn. She was at least 5'8 which was pretty damn tall.
"Caitlyn! We're very excited to have you here!" I looked back my mom who was also smiling. Everybody always got it wrong "It's actually Cailyn-" I quickly glanced at her left hand. No ring "Miss." She laughed slightly like I said something funny "I'm sorry, Miss Cailyn!" She said purposely using the word I referred her too.
"But we glad to have you here. It's so rare when we get new campers! Everybody here has been coming to camp for years." She looked over the camp almost proud "But everybody here is so nice. You'll be sharing a room with Samantha." She gestured to a girl standing not too far away from us "She'll show you to your room." She said putting her hands over each other on her lower stomach.
"Okay mom. I guess this is where we part w-" My mom pulled me into a tight hug "Okay sweetie, I know I know. Call me everyday. I love you!" I pulled away "Love you too." I said smiling slightly.
She walked away. Looking back as she got by her car and blowing me a kiss. I waved at her as she left.
The director smiled at me again "Mother-daughter relationships are so precious. I actually had a daughter of my own." I noticed how she said had. She looked pained but I didn't ask about it. I felt awkward. This situation wasn't what I was used to, luckily Samantha came to my rescue.
"Hi Cailyn! You want me to show you our room?" She asked sweetly. She was a bit chubby with cute round cheeks. She had brown hair with pale skin. Her bangs hung a bit over her eyes, but I could clearly see her bright blue eyes.
"Yeah I'd really appreciate it." I said glad to be out of the situation. We walked away and she started talking again when we were out of the director's earshot. She sighed "She told you about the mother-daughter bond, didn't she?"
"Like you read my mind." I said shaking my head. We arrived at the small cabin that we'd be staying at. It was a lot nicer then I'd thought it be "I used to have this place to myself, but I don't mind sharing." She said opening the door for me.
"The place is squeaky clean. The sheets are new the floors are shiny." I saw the room we'd be sharing. There was a bunk bed in the corner of the room and two desks. There was also some built in closets next to the desks.
