"SERAHHHHH" I heard my mother yell from downstairs.
I sighed and went to the stairwell, "Yes mum?"
"I'm going out for a while! I'll be back in a few, remember to lock the doors!" I saw her smile, wave then leave the house. Great.
It was almost 8pm here in London. I decided to stay home, had no friends anyways.
I shuffled up the stairs back into my room and blasted some Green Day. It was raining outside, which I loved. The rain I mean, so I cracked open a window.
In the midst of opening the window, I saw a....police box?
Curious, I slipped on my vans, put on my jacket and ran outside to the mysterious box.
Only 16 at the time, I made sure to carry something along with me just in case. The item for today...a pocketknife! No creepy guy will mess with a 16 year old wielding a pocketknife..
It was quite dark outside for only being 8pm. Running through the rain ridden streets, I saw the blue of the police box illuminate in the darkness. Pretty.
But there was a man standing outside of it...
"Hey! Who're you?" I asked/yelled.
The man, obviously startled, turned back to look at me. He smiled politely and walked over to me. "Hello! I'm the doctor, nice to meet ya" he stuck out his hand.
"Doctor...who?" I asked.
"Oh just the doctor." He responded
"What do you mean just 'the doctor'?"
"Well, it has a nice ring to it doesn't it?" He smiled
I sighed. "Why're you standing outside of this police box at 8?"
"This? This isn't a police box. It's a tardis." He patted the TARDIS lovingly "Time and Relative Dimension in Space" he said, and me standing there not understanding anything.
"What?"
"Here, let me show you!" He took my hand and led me into the box.
The doors revealed a spacious area with a large power center in the middle. Who the hell is this guy?
"Impressed?" He asked
"Hardly.." I replied.
"In case you were wondering, I'm a time lord." He strolled over to the power center in the middle and pressed buttons.
"A time lord? So you can like....travel all throughout human history?" I asked
"Precisely!"
"...why did you show me this? Shouldn't you keep this secret?"
"Keeping it secret would ruin the fun don't you think?" He smiled and came over to my side. He was quit tall and didn't look over 30.
"I brought you here to ask if you would be my companion." He patted my shoulder. "So will you travel throughout time and space with me? Serah?"
"How do you know my name? And why should I go with you?"
He looked down and sighed "We've met before..." He smiled a worn out smile and looked at me "You are destined to become a companion. So please, will you come with me?"
Confused, obviously, I nervously nodded my head "Yes....I will go with you Doctor."
"Great! Lets go pack your things!" He took my arm and led me out of the TARDIS.
"I'm gonna have a hard time explaining this to mum..." I rubbed my head with my free hand while the doctor was too busy beaming.
