The night was upon me faster than I'd planned... and I was a panicked freak. What did he want me to wear? Should I look good? Or casual? Wear hair up or down? "Mara, help me out!! Gosh don't just stare!" I yelled at my cat.
She blinked rapidly and retreated back into the blankets on the Futon.
*Sigh* I sat down on the floor and looked around at my house, covered with artwork and shelves brimming with paper, then there was my half-eaten loaf of bread sitting on the counter.. and a bag of carrots spilling onto the floor. And my house that was completely covered in stuff that I didn't need. How could a guy ever like me? He must be pretty stupid.
I got up and applied a small amount of make-up, you know, just to bring out my eyes and define my eyebrows a bit more. Then, I took my hair out of the sloppy bun I had it in and let it fall down my shoulders and back. I put on a long red sweater and black leggings, then ran outside before I changed my mind and went into another spasm.
Moonlight bathed the city and wind whistled down the roads. Cars lights flashed in the streets as they whizzed by and pretty soon, the only thing stirring was the leaves blown by the wind. I stood still in the eerie silence and took a deep breath. 'Go for it girl.'
I walked down the gray sidewalks and peeked around every corner.. I didn't want to be attacked by a night ninja or anything... you know what I mean? Those guys dressed in black that jump out of the shadows and "AHHH!!!" I screamed louder than I thought as Louis suddenly appeared in front of me.
"Woah! Bianca! It's just me!" He panted, resting his hands on my shoulders.
"O-ohh sorry.." I smiled, recoiling slightly. "I thought you were a night ninja.. or.. yeah.." I trailed off as his eyebrows rose.
"A night ninja huh? Well, I am pretty good at Kung foo .. If I do say so myself." He smiled deviously, staring past me as if recalling a great memory.
"Okay.. anyway. Why did you want to meet me out here?"
He smiled and a shadow crossed his eye before he replied. "I kinda just wanted to talk... and this is the only time that I have."
"Okay." I forced a smile. 'That's all? No food or cool movie scene or anything?'
He began walking, slowly.
So, I walked, slowly.
"So, whats it like to work in a coffee shop?"
What a strange question. "Well, I get to give people coffee? I mean, a coffee shop is boring, you've got millions of girls chasing you. Why would you want to know what a coffee shop is like?" My mouth ran and I was almost shocked with what I'd said. I don't remember ever being mad about him being chased and me just working in.. a coffee shop.
"I don't get to experience what a quiet evening is very often. So every day for you is a false reality for me."
"What? But why?"
He looked at me and my oblivious face. Then, just continued walking. "Oh.. well you know. I have famous.. friends."
"Ohhhh so because your friends are famous, girls want to get to your friends through you!" I smiled. "Now I understand."
"Yes..yes that's right." He laughed, then stuck his hands in his pockets and glanced at me sideways. " You know, you are very different as opposed to all those other girls."
I raised my eyebrows and gave him a questioning look. "And.. why is that?"
"You don't obsess over guys. You just go on with life."
