Lying is easier than it seems

High ceilings and balconies everywhere! A sea of people with masks and poofy dresses! AHHHH it was like a dream come true!

I gazed up into Louis' eyes and shook his arm. "Thank you thank you thank you!!!" I said, then hugged him.

He seemed to fill with joy, because he immediately took me to his friends and introduced me as a 'dear friend from the place he loved most.'

"Hello, I'm Niall." The first greeted, then bowed. He stood back up and disappeared.

Another guy came. "Hello, who's this?" The attractive guy asked before kneeling and kissing me on the hand.

"This is my dear friend, Bianca." Louis thumped the guy on the back and whispered something in his ear.

"My name is Harry." The guy said, smiling largely and winking at me.

Louis gave him a suspicious eye before making the 'no' motion with his hand.

Harry laughed.

The other two were named Zayn and Liam. I noticed that they all took their masks off when greeting me.

"Now that you've met my friends, we can have some fun." He laughed at his own comment, then grabbed my hand and dragged me out into the crowd and tried to dance... but looked absolutely horrible.

"Oh my goodness. Stop!" I told him immediately, before my eyes hurt. "That's not how you dance." I showed him a few of my dance moves, and he started to get the feel of it. "Yes.. okay good." We danced for a bit, then I felt myself slowly being pushed away from him by the movement of the crowd. But, I was so caught up in the dancing and the joyous mood, that I took no notice of it.

Masks decorated in purples and pinks and blacks and yellows flashed all around me and the world was like a blur. A blur full of colors and music and the pulsing of my speeding heart. One dance included a part where you swapped dance partners every time the beat dropped. I found myself dancing with an old man thats eyes sparkled when he lifted my hands and twirled me around, then I was with a young stud who managed to kiss me on the lips before vanishing, and then there was a scary sort of looking man that grabbed my hands and whirled me with such vigor that after dancing with him I had to go to the side wall and stop the world from spinning. Once I was back out in the jumble of people, the stomping of feet and thrum of music went to my bones and I felt like I was a piece of a machine, everybody moving at once, part of a bigger being. It was almost surreal.

Pretty soon, I had danced with just about every guy in the room and finally noticed my growling stomach. I pushed my way to the kitchen and nearly fainted at the sight of the heaping tables of food. OH MY GOSH. It was a dream. I got a plate of food that was almost sky high and sat down in a chair that was pretty isolated. I didn't want anyone near me. I liked eating alone.

I dove into the plate of food and was finishing a Chocolate Eclair when a man pulled up a chair and sat next to me.

"Hello Madame." He greeted cordially, then took his mask from his face and smiled. His hair was black and swept across his forehead nicely. His eyes were green and he had a lovely jawline. But.. I didn't like how he approached me. He made me uneasy. "My name is Daniel. What's yours?"

"Hello Daniel." I set down my plate and straightened up. I should keep a good image. But, I did not take my mask off. "My name is Ava."

He nodded. "I see, so how are you enjoying the dance?"

"Uh, it's lovely." I replied. I didn't want to go anywhere with this conversation. I didn't like this guy.

"Indeed. It is lovely. I came here from Stasbourg, France to attend this dance. I was invited by Niall himself-er a friend of his actually and decided to attend. It really was a hassle, with the weather we've been having, so everyone was wishing me well as I departed."
