Chapter 3 Meeting New People

Lina's POV

"Patience, hi baby!" I said to my daughter as I practically yanked the door open.

"Hello Lina." Patience said so nonchalantly; filled with hate, anger, and probably sadness. That attitude just changed my whole demeanor from excited to just disappointment. I understand she just lost her father and is moving to a new state, and even leaving her best friend's family home, but I'm her mother. I deserve respect. Yes, I made mistakes in the past, but I'm not the same person I was when I had left Patience with Marvin.

"Hello Ms. Lucy and Venice, come in, please." I say moving out the way to let Venice and Ms. Lucy in the house. They smiled at me and just walked in. I had Sofia, the maid, take everyone's coats and led them to the living room. I've missed this part of my life deeply. I wish I could go back to Louisiana, but there are too many bad memories there. I'm not ready to face them. The only one that I am ready for though, is my daughter Patience.

"Well how was the plane ride? Have y'all eaten anything? Would you like something? Sofia!!-" I was panicking. To say I was nervous would be an understatement. Just seeing my baby look so nice and grown looking, I am forever grateful to Ms. Lucy for taking care of her for me and Marvin.

"Lina, you don't have to worry, we ate already. So calm down, there's nothing to worry about honey." Ms. Lucy said to me and whispered that last part to me. After hearing that, I regained a little of my excitement from earlier and offered to show the house to everyone. All I could feel was happiness every time I heard an "ohh" and "aww" when we walked to each room of this 6 bedroom and 5 bathroom house, with an indoor Jacuzzi and an outdoor pool. I'm very proud of what me and my husband have accomplished together. I'm just worried how the relationship between Patience and Gary will go. Gary is great with children, he's a good father to the two we have together. But to deal with a hormonal 16 year old girl, its not ideally a piece of cake. I hope she gives him a chance.

Patience P.O.V.

So I'm at Lina's house, and I'm not gonna lie, this house is amazing, but I'm not gonna let her know that. We walking through this big house and then all of a sudden we split up, now my ass is lost in this large maze. I then walk pass this room and decide to be a little nosy. My eyes grew large as I scanned the room, which is mine. The walls are lavender, with a grey ceiling. I have a queen sized bed with dark purple silk comforter, and black silk pillows. I have a walk-in closet and have a vanity close to the window. I have a desk, where i can do my homework at and a bathroom. I just literally fell in love with this room. Like am i like Alice when she fell through the rabbit hole. I'm in love. WAIT WHAT. I'm mad at mom, I mean Lina. I shouldn't even give her the time of day. But she did all this, right? I'm confused and emotionally and physically strained. I just wanna be with dad now. He would make me some tea and stroke my hair and told me that if I keep stressing i'll grow gray hairs and look like Mama Lucy. Gawd, imma miss them. But i'm gonna do my best to live here for the both of them.

"Patience, where are you?"Lina, Venice, and Mama Lucy yelled. I turned around and started following their voices and I crept up behind Venice and she jumped up and I laughed at her. I caught Lina smiling at me and i just looked away, i don't know why i did, i just did.

" We gonna start heading out now, so say bye Venice." Mama Lucy told Venice said with tearing already formed in her eyes.

"See you later, Bestie?"

"See you later, Bestie." She cried in my arms as my tears fell silently. I whipped them away quickly and whipped her too, telling her its okay, and of course, "I love you", before her and Mama Lucy left. I already miss them. I hope this life here in this house will go alright, but i feel like having that cup of tea right about now.
