the purplenette stared at him for a bit but soon deciding that he shouldn't bombard the bluenette with questions if he wanted him to stay, “hm....okay!” he smiled, placing his focus back on the menu in his hands.
“t-thank you!” the taller male was extremely grateful of koishi complying with his wishes, causing him to hold up the shorter male's hands with tears prickling the corners of his eyes.
this brought a deep blush upon the purplenette's face, instinctively pulling away his hands and looking down in embarrassment, “w— what's wrong, kai?” kagehara looked genuinely concerned about the boy infront of him, the worried look on his face wearing off when the purplenette shook his head and looked back at the menu.
deciding he didn't want to sit in silence the whole time, he asked the shorter male a simple question, “what're you gonna— uhm..order?” he nervously asked, immediately regretting his decision.
being honest, kagehara expected the purplenette to quickly answer his question — but instead, he ignored the bluenette and kept looking at the desserts. it made sense why he'd do that, koishi was very obsessed with sweets to the point it made the taller male concerned about his health.
shoving the thought away, he looked back down and waited for the purplenette to order something — this, however, had led his mind to think about the situation with...amami.
he always thought the the greenette was a nice guy to talk to, he had a very comforting vibe — giving the bluenette a sense of safety whenever he was around the taller male. 'he's nice.' that's all he could really say if you asked him for an opinion on amami.
they didn't talk much, but the bluenette would still consider him a friend. but seeing as his kidnapper had killed the greenette, he couldn't feel that same safety he could sense when he did hang out with the taller male.
now that he thinks about it, isn't the purplenette's behaviour a little similar to that one girl in the video game he'd heard about from akamatsu? he didn't pay much attention to the girl when she talked about it but he could easily remember the only distinguishing details about the character.
black hair, a middle school uniform and their tendency to kill others for their upper-class man. one of these facts reminded him of the purplenette sitting infront of him — the tendency to kill others for their upper-class man. now, kagehara was in no way shape or form, the shorter male's upper-class man but it was more so the killing part that stood out...
killing others for their so-called loved one? yeah, that's koishi.
he killed amami, supposedly for the bluenette's sake. and now that he thinks about it, one of his friends — koto miyuu — disappeared one day when he was still in middle school, could that have been the purplenette's doing?
he'll ask him later, he can't bring himself to do it in a place filled with a bunch of other people. 'miyuu...' he wants to cry, he really does. she'd been missing for a really long time, her disappearance had a big impact on the bluenette.
but, he shouldn't think about that right now. he'll just wait for the purplenette, yeah, he'll do that for now.
“you like mocha, right?” koishi asked him out of the blue, earning a quick and nervous nod. “great!” he then called over a waitress and ordered whatever the hell he had in mind.
'well, that's done, I guess..'
“you looked like you were about to cry earlier, do you miss koto?” how did he know—? “she was a really creative person, too bad she disappeared.” koishi never talked to the girl, sure they were in the same class, but they never approached one another.
the purplenette was always busy with something like a book he bought while koto was always talking to the bluenette or even hitting on akamatsu. maybe he'd heard about her from a friend—? hm. he never talked to anyone other than kagehara or that one upper-class man who he didn't really know much about.
“yeah...” he looked back down, ultimately deciding he shouldnt interrogate the boy in a place full of other people. he may hate him, but he'll definitely face that wretched boxcutter again if he did anything to ruin the purplenette's facade.
“well, don't worry. you have me, my beloved.” he caressed the bluenette's cheek — a wide smile on his face with blush dusted on his own cheeks. kagehara, being too afraid to face punishment, smiled at the purplenette and lightly held onto the other's wrist.
when the food had arrived, koishi pulled his hand away and thanked the waitress. she smiled and walked away as she was called by another customer, “do you l-like what I ordered for you?” he was, once again, blushing immensely as he asked the bluenette for his opinion.
looking at the food, it seemed decent so, “mhm, it seems nice.” the purplenette felt like the happiest man on earth upon hearing those words, celebrating his little victory in his head then picking up his utensils to eat his food.
kagehara, wanting to actually know what he'd ordered, did the same and started eating his food. after they'd eaten, they walked home but not before the purplenette bought him some flowers when passing by the flower shop that amami worked in.
that was a nice date, despite the fact it was with a murderer.
