"Put this book in the child's section. I'll do the rest of the books!" Somi smiled at the intern, reassuring her as she reminisced her old days.
She is working for about a year... or maybe more...
It didn't take her long to grasp onto what she had to do.
She loved books. So much.
Books where like her better half.Hoseok didn't always want to be a dancer. He had dreams of a normal boy. He was going to be a civil worker just like the others boys but then one day, on his way back from school, with Somi. He saw what performing really is. Live dancing. Twelve boys in total sync.
He was speechless.'I want to dance.' He thought but didn't say a word.
The next day. He was surprised. Somi said something he never imagined she would.
"Do you want to try dancing? I saw your look yesterday. You were in love"
'Oh. I am in love' he thought.
He didn't want to admit but.
"Should I give it a try? Really?"
"Yea why not? Its not like you are taking up dance as your profession!"
But thats exactly what Hoseok was considering. His passion and profession. Both.
"Hmmm obviously. I should just do it like a hobby!" He immediately decided what he wanted. Dance.
And from that year, he only danced.
He would not come home. Not go to school.
With Somi's help, he got average points in SATs.
But all he thought about is Dance.
He was soon in a street dancer group. Dancing effortlessly.Somi knew how bad Hoseok wanted to pursue Dance.
She did her best to convince his parents.
They agreed but all he had to do was bring enough money. All of this went by so quickly. Both of them are 27 now.
Hoseok brings a decent amount of money from the daily gigs.
And Somi, she did what she wanted all her life. Living with books. After finishing all the arranging work, Somi called out her colleagues, more like friends
Namjoon and Jisoo"My treat today! Come come come!"
Namjoon flashed his dimples and said
"Thats fine but you have to stop treating us. We have our own money you know?""He is right! You never let us pay Somi!!!" Jisoo tried to shout whisperingly
"Ahh ok ok I'll let you pay next time!" Somi smiled naughtily
"Nope! Its on me today!" Namjoon put his hands around Somi's shoulder as they left for food.
Life has been good for Somi if she lets others judge it.
But she keeps this one thing, suppressed.
Her feelings.
Cause she doesn't want anyone to see her vulnerable side.
She liked smiling for others.
She liked making others smile."Okay I'll have to go! My fiancé is already here" Jisoo stood up as he side hugged both of them.
"I guess its just us now"
"Hm hm" Somi slurped Jajangmyeon from her bowl.
"I am done! Lets go!"
As they walked along the streets. It was already evening.
Namjoon was starting to speak
"Somi--"Her phone rang
"Aw? Hobi?"She answered within seconds.
"Hmm hello?"
"Yah where are you? I am waiting for you! Come fast!!!!"
"Where are you?"
"IN YOUR ROOM!!"
"Stop shouting. I will go deaf because of you!"
"Then come now. You have 10 minutes"
"Hm hm" she cut the call and smiled.
She looked at Namjoon. He looked hopeless.
For someone who has 148IQ, Hopelessness doesn't suit him."Were you saying something? Sorry my friend called and interrupted!"
"I was going to ask you for coffee"
Her immediate reflex was to say no.
But she took her time.
If she keeps falling for Hoseok's words like this. Avoiding her feelings would so tough. Having a cup of coffee with someone as harmless as Namjoon was not a bad idea at all."Yes why not! I would love to have coffee... its chilly isn't it?"
"But your friend literally shouted and asked you to come home"
"Oh he keeps barking! I can't do everything he asks me to do" she told herself and Namjoon
"Yes" Namjoon suddenly didn't look hopeless anymore.
From the moment they entered the cafe, Namjoon sensed that Somi wasn't particularly in her spirits.
She wanted to go to her best friend.
Understandable.
Namjoon checked his phone and spoke
"Oh my god! I am sorry Somi! I think we have to delay our coffee together!""Why? What happened?"
"My sister is locked outside the apartment! And our parents aren't home!"
"Ohh you should leave then! I'll cancel the orders" She said
"Hmmm see you okay?"
"Yep! Bye!"
