The same old routine kept going for the next few weeks. Little Cato would wake up, have breakfast with his father, and run off to be with Pawblo. He was very excited to have someone else to talk to.

At first, Pawblo didn't talk much. But when Little Cato began to show up every day to hang out with him, he quickly warmed up to the kid. It was nice having company, but he still preferred to be alone.

The two of them would usually talk about their lives, or throw rocks into a bucket. Pawblo would work on repairing and fixing up electronics for sale. Little Cato sat there every time to watch him do so. He would ask questions about what parts he was using and how he was doing it. It didn't bother Pawblo.

Avocato was grateful that his son made a friend. There weren't many kids his age around. He was miffed on the idea of his friend being an adult, but at least he confirmed that his kid was safe. No harm in letting him have fun.

He decided that maybe he shouldn't doubted his son's friend. Maybe he was someone who he could befriend, too. But he would have to make sure that his son was okay with this idea.

There he was on the living room couch, waiting for his son to arrive home. He watched the time pass by, yet it seemed so slow. Soon, Avocato heard the front door open. Little Cato walked into the living room, where his dad had been waiting for him.

"Hey, Dad. I'm back from my friend's place." He was happy. "We fixed an old computer together. He gifted it to me!" He pulled out an old looking laptop out of his backpack. "It has games and everything!"

Avocato was surprised to hear this. "You and this man have been doing stuff like that together?" He was impressed. Little Cato nodded eagerly. "Yup! He's really good at fixing up old tech. I'm learning a bit from him."

Now I have to meet this guy, Avocato thought. He took a deep breath and looked down at his son. "Hey, I know this seems like a bother to ask. But just to be safe, do you mind if I take the day off from work tomorrow and go with you to his place? I just want to make sure. I am your father, after all." He shrugged. "If not, then that's fine. I'm going either way."

Little Cato rolled his eyes, and let out a sigh. "Alright. You can come with me tomorrow. Just don't embarrass me. He's my friend." The boy hugged his dad and soon walked off to his room.

Avocato smiled. He was glad that his son had agreed to this. Now all he had to do was protect him in case anything went south with the meeting.
